Once again we are offering many practical guidebooks for nature lovers, hobby garden-ers, amateur cooks, dog and pet holders, anglers and hunters and for riders of all levels.

But, our main focus is this autumn on our expanding cartographic programme. We are happy to present you two new titles:

3 Modern incense burning rituals for slowing down

3 60 herbs, woods and resins

Experiencing the seasons mindfully and aware connects us to the power of natural rhythms. Burning incense during the winter solstice, at the start of spring during Groundhog Day or at the height of summer during St. John‘s gives us energy and centres us in ourselves, because we disconnect from the hectic pace and speed of day-to-day activities. Many tips for rituals you design yourself help to do so. Whether in nature, in your own garden or house, in a small apartment or in shared student quarters right in the big city: Incense rituals are possible anywhere. With extensive portraits of 60 effective herbs, woods and resins.

The most familiar edible fungi are also the types which are found most frequently. Nature guides or handbooks can confuse beginners with too many similar species, Gathering Mushrooms gives detailed explanations on the most common types of fungi. Clear explanations are central to the theme of the book, and any corre-sponding types are differentiated to avoid confusion. This guide allows readers to correctly identify the different types of fungi. An ideal guide for beginners.

3 Don‘t be scared, but savour it: creative recipes and much worth knowing about insects

Folke Dammann is an insect expert and operates an Internet retailer with farm-raised, freeze-dried edible insects. He planned and implemented the book project together with art director and photographer Nadine Kuhlenkamp.

Fried grasshopper with chili, roasted mealworms on a bed of herbs, grilling with honey and sesame seeds, delicate buffalo worm chocolates: These are only some of the samples from this book, which show that insects taste surprisingly good – nutty, aromatic, simply delicious! They are considered delicacies in many countries of the world for a good reason, and are on the menu for more than two billion people. And in Europe, too, people are discovering the potential of edible insects, which can be bought on the Internet and in selected delicatessen stores. Because they are rich in protein, vitamins and dietary fibres, also low in fat, and especially climate-friendly when it comes to raising them.

3 100 years theory of relativity

3 Einstein‘s legacy: the current search for a world formula

It was tested thousands of times and confirmed ever more precisely: Einstein‘s revolutionary theory of relativity is considered a foundation of today‘s physics. But despite its history of success, the theory of curved space-time is being questioned more and more. Because current insight into the Big Bang, black holes and cosmic dynamics, as well as the search for the world formula show: There must be a reality beyond Ein-stein‘s universe. Do space and time consist of elemental buil-ding blocks? Is gravity only an illusion? Einstein‘s work of the century is under investigation – what will follow after?

3 Unique communication method in the lungeing circle

Lungeing with a dog is becoming more popular. The well-known dog trainer Sami El Ayachi has developed his own method of communication via body language with the dog in the lungeing circle. He shows how you move your body consciously and how you can use the body language so honed for communication with the dog. In the process the dog learns to better understand his human and to pay attention to him. Body-language lungeing consolidates the relationship between dog and human, and wonderfully occupies the dog. The add-on to the book: more information and films can be downloaded easily and quickly via QR codes in the book or online.

3 Nose work and retrieving with the successful Fichtlmeier method

For Anton Fichtlmeier searching and retrieving is the key to a harmonious, stable relationship between human and dog. It is a type of activity that offers many opportunities for arranging spare time and the course of the day in a variegated and fascinating way. All dog owners can find valuable suggestions here on how to occupy their dog meaningfully with this method: from fun and games up to professional search work.

But it forms part of normal behaviour in any dog and cannot be trained away entirely. The authors explain the background: How does aggres-sion arise, how can you avoid it and how can you handle it correctly as a dog owner? A contempo-rary topic that affects almost any dog owner.

3 For harmony in the multi-cat household

3 Valuable tips from the cat expert

The potential friends become enemies, there are quarrels, mobbing and duelling by leaving their marks. Birga Dexel illustrates with many sample cases why cats react this way and explains what you need to watch out for during selec-tion and socialisation, how you prevent behavioural problems and how peaceful coexistence in a multi-cat household is achieved.
