Wheelchair Ramp Projects

Brother Skeeter Ritter recently coordinated, organized and participated in building three (3) major wheelchair ramps. The first ramp was built for the Bristol Ministry Mall which is located in Bristol, Virginia. This was a long and difficult project which required numerous volunteers and hours of work. The second ramp was constructed in Bristol, Tennessee for one of our Brother Knights and parishioner. The third ramp was just recently completed in July 2012 in Bluff City, Tennessee for another Brother Knight and parishioner in need. These projects always serve as tremendous aids to individuals in our community. We have received great appreciation for completing these worthy projects. We are so grateful to Skeeter Ritter, Mark Nohre, George Rosen, Ken Johnson, and Kevin Corbett for their hard work on these projects.

Bingo is always in need of additional volunteers. Steve Harris serves as the coordinator for Saturday evening bingo and can be contacted at 276-685-6004. Greg Chudzik coordinates Tuesday evening bingo and may be contacted at 423-335-0822. You may also be interested in the bingo kitchen. If you feel this is something you can assist with, contact Don Keene at 276-644-9704. As you all know, this is where the majority of our operating funds come from. Please consider donating just one evening a month, which will be equivalent to approximately four hours of time. Bingo is played at the MSGR. Hickie Center, located at 430 Oakview Avenue, Bristol, Virginia. Their phone number is 276-466-8446.

The Kid's Fishing Rodeo is usually held on the Saturday following Labor Day each year. Unfortunately, there was a scheduling problem between the Knights of Columbus and the City of Bristol, Tennessee which resulted in cancelling this year's event. Steele's Creek Park was booked up every Saturday through December 2012. The new date selected and reserved for our event is April 20, 2013. Last year's event brought in over 165 children from all over the Tri-Cities area. This set back will give us more time to plan for an even better event in the Spring. Remember to mark your calendar for this great family event.

Past Grand Knight Greg Chudzik receives a District Deputy Award from State District Deputy Tony Fitton (PGK) on May 7, 2012. This award was achieved as a result of Council 6695 and other valuable volunteers participating with Special Olympics Bowling. This event was held at Interstate

Bowling Alley in Bristol, Virginia on March 3, 2012.

In memory of our departed Brother Knight, John Joseph "Jack" Nutterville Jr. August 30, 1924 - July 20, 2012

Our Brother, Jack Nutterville was a veteran of the U.S Navy. He was very devoted to Saint

Anne Catholic Church through his work with Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, the Knights of Columbus, Council 6695, and the Parish Book Club. Jack is survived by his wife

Maryanne Leonard Nutterville and their large family. Please keep the Nutterville Family in your prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto Jack Nutterville, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen
