Project Description:

CoPower Inc., an affiliate of LISI. LISI is one of the leading General Agencies in California, US. LISI is an agency that provides a bridge between the carriers and the brokers in offering Health Insurance. They offer information on plans, rates, carriers, eligibility requirements for enrollment. The system has the capability to track agencies, brokers, groups, carriers, policies, plans, commissions and overrides, notes and attachments.

The system contains two separate user interfaces. The first one is the rich user interface that shall be based on client server application. The second one is the web interface which will be used by brokers/ agents to generate quotes and by employers/ members to enroll online.

In the system the accounting module act a major part, in which the system is handling all the required accounting details of brokers, carriers, different policies. The system is holding automatic batch job to generate the invoices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Team Member, I have been mainly involved in the following activities: Involved in preparing Test Plan Understanding and Analysis of requirements & functional design specification (FDS). Estimating SIT testing effort based on the requirements. Participated in the Design part of Test Scenarios and involved in writing and Executing the Test Cases

Aloha is a data conversion project. Before development of Phoenix application Copower used Oscar application for enrollment. Once phoenix was developed they started using phoenix to enroll new groups but the old database (Oscar application data) was not integrated to new Phoenix database. As a part of Aloha, integration happened between Phoenix database and Oscar database by performing some modifications to Oscar database to synchronize Oscar database with Phoenix application as well as phoenix database, and after this Copower started using one single database for their business operations.


As a Team Member, I have been mainly involved in the following activities: Involvement in Test case Design with respect to existing business logic. Involvement in Test Execution and Defect Reporting using Global Issue Tracker and Mantis. Performing Sanity, GUI, Functional and Regression Testing on existing data (Oscar and Phoenix data)

CCRM (Commitment Compliance and Revenue Manager) is a tool used by Revenue Accounting Operations (RAO) team at Cisco to manage nonstandard deal revenue. RAO analysts are forced to manage the non-std deals manually. As this is taking up a huge time for the revenue calculation and more lose is recognized in the Business to speed up the process the CCRM TOOL is updated with Next Gen CCRM. One of the main goals of the Next Gen CCRM is to implement Reason Code and Hold Template based processes for accurate accounting and reporting in CCRM relating to Bookings, COGS, Invoicing, Commissions and Revenue adjustments. The issues lengthy processing times, static hold types, system instabilities, data inaccuracies and data validity issues will be addressed by NGCCRM.
