K INKELDER VISION• The application of the most advanced saw

blade technologies must make a significant impact on Customers’ cost reductionobjectives.

• Innovation will be an ongoing and central theme of company culture.

• Power HSS, “ thin kerf ” circular saw blades, introduced in the mid 90s, represented the first major change in the Industry manufactu-ring techniques for decades. Vastly increased cutting rates and blade life were achieved as a result of lower levels of vibration.

• Shortly after the Millenium, an entirely new product range was launched: Connexxioncut.

The Connexxioncut “ throw-away ” saw bladepioneered the successful application of TCTto steel tube sawing. Production rates, pre-viously considered impossible, were achievedthrough the introduction of this product.

• The most recent addition to the Kinkelder HSS range is the Supreme saw blade. Thisis the most productive and cost effective highperformance saw blade ever produced by the company.

In its 60 year history, Kinkelder hasgained a wealth of experience in theapplication and manufacture of everyform of circular saw blade. Productionfacilities have been developed toensure the highest possible levelof quality.

In recent years the company hasdeveloped a clear strategicapproach to this specialisedmarket:

Productinnovation

“Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration. Accordingly, a 'genius' is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework.”

Thomas Edison

We have learned that to optimise competitiveadvantage we must continuously work hard, consultwidely, be persistent, and analyse and compare results.

“Did you know that the greatest obstacle to discovery isn’t ignorance? It’s the illusion of knowledge, isn’t it?”

D.J. Boorstin

New knowledge and innovation can only be nurtured in an open-mindedcompany culture, which has understood that the future is, not necessarily,an extension of the past.

Wie können wir mehr Kunden, Nutzen schaffen?

Our objective is to follow the roadof continuous improvement

As an organisation that progresses throughlearning, we must continuously challenge ourthoughts and activities. Only in this way canwe achieve the progress and innovation forwhich we strive.

Our path to becoming a world class manufactu-ring company relies on many activities. To dream, to test, to communicate and under-stand, to work together as a team, occasionallyto be lucky, but most of all to have the desireto achieve something worthwhile together.

However the most important question that weask ourselves every day is:

10 How can we improve Customer benefits?

PVD-Coated HSScircular sawblades Performance 3000

Product concept

For many years the Performance product rangehas developed an excellent reputation in thetube industry - a tool with a very high cuttinglife at a competitive price.

The new Performance 3000 product is afurther refinement of an already successfulsaw blade.

Product advantages

The sophisticated coating combines hightemperature resistance with a very low frictioncoefficient.

The new version of this product benefitsfrom an upgraded coating which enables itto handle harder materials at higher cuttingspeeds.

• The TiN ( Titanium Nitride ) coating is a good all-round coating, which allows cutting at muchhigher speeds than with steam treated steels, particularly for steel tube and profiles.

• The TiAlN ( Titanium Aluminium Nitride ) coating provides better protection against highertemperatures than a TiN coating. It is ideal for applications where higher temperatures are caused by fast cutting speeds or very hard materials.

• The TiCN ( Titanium Carbonitride ) coating has a very low friction coefficient, and extends the blade life in steel tube cutting applications. This coating is suitable for all types of steel, including stainless steel.

Economy 3000A high performing sawblade for an economic price.

Product concept

Economy 3000 is a very cost effective saw blade with a sophisticated coating for wear protection.A special coating procedure has been developed in order to create a coating with a very low frictioncoefficient at an attractive price level.

Product advantages

Ideal for cutting tubes and profiles, Economy 3000 cuts much faster than a steam treated blade.Higher cutting speeds can be achieved as the coating protects the saw blade against side welding.

Application

Economy 3000 can be used on manual, semi automatic and automatic sawing machines. It’s idealfor thin wall tubes, in mild and stainless steel.

Product concept

The Power HSS product range benefits from a new hollow grindingtechnology, exclusive to Kinkelder, that enables the production of thinkerf high stability saw blades. The application of a specially developedlow friction coating, supports very high cutting rates, whilst achievingexceptional blade life.

Product advantages

Important benefits are:

• Very low vibration as a result of the thin kerf;• Very high blade life from a coating with an extremely low friction coefficient; • Ideal for sawing stainless steel tubes.

To build on previous successes we decided to upgrade this product andlaunch it as Power 3000.

What’s better with Power 3000?

• The coating is based on the latest PVD technology;• The teeth are fully coated giving much longer blade life;• This high level of performance can be reproduced using new

re-grinding technology.

Product concept

Power Integral is a special development of the “ thin kerf “ technology. The sawblade hub is strengthened for stability under high cutting forces. The combinationof low friction and cutting resistance with high strength enables us to adapt theseproducts for extremely demanding applications.

Product advantage

The benefits of an exceptionally thin saw blade can be seen from the following applications:

• Minimises deformation or spinning of tubes in the sawing machine vices; • For short length cutting of expensive materials, yields are significantly improved;• On sawing machines with limited motor power, the thin kerf creates less vibration

and extends blade life.

The dimensions in the table are just a selection. There are many more variants possible.

SUPREME 3000

18 19

Supreme 3000.1

Product Concept

The Supreme saw blade has fully coated teethand has been developed to optimise the per-formance of the new generation of high volumesawing machines. Cutting speeds and blade lifeexceed all other products currently on the mar-ket. New re-sharpening and economic re-coating technologies have been developed toreproduce the exceptional cutting performancethroughout the life of the saw blade. High pro-ductivity can therefore be achieved at very lowtool cost.

The saw blade performance

On sawing machines with the appropriate feedand speed characteristics, output can be in-creased up to 100% and tool life up to 300%compared with current high-end PVD coatedsaw blade technology.

A revolution in the tube sawing-industry

Building on the success of the Performance and the Power products,we have been researching new techniques to achieve even higher cuttingperformance within the constraints of competitive pricing.

The answer is: Supreme 3000

The Kinkelder Supreme saw blade will in the future be synonymous with:• The highest quality HSS tool steel, which can be applied to sawing;• The most innovative manufacturing methods, especially in relation to the micro

geometry of the sawblade;• The most up to date surface and wear-protection technology, that is available

on the market.

Because the Supreme saw blade will becontinuously developed, there will be aseries of new variant releases. Hence webelieve that 3000.1 will be the first of manystages of improved cutting performance ofSupreme 3000.

CONNEXXIONCUT

20 21

Product concept

On tube weld mill flying saw applications, cold sawing techniques are necessary to maintain cutquality on heavy wall or hard materials. Where cutting speed limits of coated HSS saw bladeshave been reached, Connexxioncut 2 sawblades provide an effective solution. The saw bladescan be supplied with an extremely low friction, wear-resistant coating to produce cutting speedsup to 800 m/min. This can provide the opportunity to greatly increase tube mill speeds.

Machine technical conditions.

In recent years, several well known flying saw manufacturers have developed machinesspecifically to optimise the cutting speed potential of Connexxioncut 2 saw blades. The mostimportant features are adequate motor power, peripheral blade speed and a dynamic feedcontrol with ball-screw drive. Kinkelder provides a technical consultancy service to helpcustomers optimise the sawing conditions on their flying saws.

Connexxioncut

Product concept

The Connexxioncut range has been developed to cut tubes and solid material at speeds well inexcess of those possible with other saw blades. Tungsten Carbide tips are brazed onto a soft body, then the tooth geometry is applied by a high precision grinding process. Most Connexxioncut sawblades are specified with a sophisticated PVD coating to protect and extend the life of the carbidetips.

Product range

Dependent of the sawing conditions and the material specifications to be cut, many differentvariants of this saw blade are available. Alternative carbide grades, tooth geometry and PVDcoatings can be specified. On the following pages you can find, subdivided into the applicationareas, more detailed information on the different Connexxioncut blade types.
