Participants will learn how to prepare the body for safe work in deeper muscles and fascia, such as Iliopsoas, QL, levator scapula, Scalenes and more. Hands on bodywork applications are combined with active movement by client. Participants will learn a 3 session series of myofascial bodywork covering the whole body. This work may bring Magnus Eklund LMT 144(MS), BCSI Magnus is a board certified structural integrator (CBSI) 500 hours, which is based on the myofascial work of Dr Ida P. Rolf, as taught by Tom Myers, and a graduate of KMI. He is a graduate of Lillsved Sports Institute in Sweden; anatomy/exercise physiology, and therapeutic movement . He was selected an official member of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics athletes medical team, as a sports massage therapist. He has studied myofascial techniques in Sweden with Dr of Naprapathy Johan Paldanius. He has also studied craniosacral therapy, neural & visceral fascial bodywork, Muscle Energy Technique, Active Isolated Stretching, sports massage & more.

This certification will cover session 1.2 and 3 in the SMT 10 series of myofascial bodywork. You will learn superficial myofascial and advanced deep tissue techniques for specific areas. Participants will learn how to prepare the body for safe work in deeper muscles and fascia, such as Iliopsoas, QL, levator scapula, Scalenes and more. This work may bring relief of chronic muscular tension, improve posture and function of the body in movement! Postural assessment is used to determine where the work is most needed. Clients are dressed in shorts, suitable top, or two piece bathing suit for women.

No Pre-requisite - Work smarter, not harder!

Bring: Shorts, bathing suit top, sports bra, tube top, sheets, lotion and a soft pillow. This workshop is not meant to substitute for traditional medical care, nor diagnose medical conditions, nor manipulate bones, but to educate massage therapists on how to safely apply massage techniques on clients. Attendees understand that massage may cause soreness, & is not without personal risk. If you have health concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to attending. Hands on participation is not required for CE credit, but attendance and observation is. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop for any reason. If you are not signed up, we cannot contact you in that turn of event. Verify CEU credits with your state board prior to attending.
