Hello Everybody. My name is Evie Bliatka and I work as a teacher at the Odysseus Elytis Elementary School in Athens, Greece.
Greece is a country in the Southeastern edge of Europe and is a member of the European Union. Athens is located in Central Greece.
The port of
Piraeus
Kifissia is in the North Suburbs of Athens, 22Km from city center
It is an green area with many trees at the foothills of Mount Penteli
It has many historical buildings and it used to be and still is the residence of prime ministers, businessmen and high level professionals (doctors, lawyers etc.)
Our school is located right below Mount Penteli, at the edge of the forest.
NOBEL LAUREATE 1979
Our school was recently named after the great Greek poet
who has been awarded the Noble prize in Literature in 1979.
327 pupils ages 6 – 12.
There are 14 classes for grades 1 – 6
(20 -24 pupils per class)
There are 18 full time teachers
17 additional teachers for Sports, Art, Music, Theater and Computers.
There is one teacher for children with special needs.
It is governed by the Ministry of Education and Life-long learning.
