Students will discover tools that will help them to connect to music in a meaningful way. Through a combination of group and individual playing, students will learn fundamental piano technique, music theory, practice skills and recital preparation. Students musicians will have an opportunity to learn chord theory and develop the tools to play much of the current pop/rock catalogue as well as developmentally appropriate literature from the classical music anthologies. This is an awesome opportunity to grow as a pianist without having to pay for private lessons or a great chance for private piano students to continue & expand upon their current focus. The amount of skill you acquire is directly proportional to the amount of effort you choose to put in. M ATERIALS FEE Students will be required to provide a set of headphones to use in class everyday. Any type of headphones will work (most of the students have earbuds already). Earbuds are very cheap and can be found at the nearest WalMart or Dollar Store. We have a limited number for purchase as well. They are $2 per pair. In addition, there is a $15.00 consumable fee for keyboard class. This money helps pay for piano books, workbooks, headphone adapters, maintenance on the instruments and supplementary music ? all items which are not covered in the county budget at this time.
