KEY MORRISON GOVERNMENT COMMENCING ON 1 JULY 2019 LOWERING YOUR TAXES Low and middle income earners will benefit from tax relief of up to $1,080 for singles or up to $2,160 for dual income families. This will be received after taxpayers lodge their 2018-19 tax returns, subject to the passage of legislation. SUPPORTING OUR SMALL BUSINESSES The Morrison Government is leading by example by reducing its payment times for small business. From 1 July 2019, the Government will adopt a 20 day payment time policy for invoices issued under a Government contract valued at $1 million or less. We are also investing in small business by establishing a $2 billion Australian Business Securitisation Fund to help small businesses get the funding they need at a better rate. The Fund is authorised to undertake investments from 1 July 2019. LOWERING YOUR POWER BILLS On 1 July 2019, a Default Market Offer (DMO) and Reference Price will commence, saving nearly 800,000 families and small businesses up to $481 in South Australia and up to $663 in NSW and South East Queensland. The DMO will cap prices for standing offers, acting as a price safety net and the Reference Price will make it easier for customers to shop around for a better deal. The new Retailer Reliability Obligation will also take effect from 1 July 2019, incentivising investment in dispatchable generation so it’s available when and where it’s needed, by requiring retailers to write contracts that guarantee supply years in advance. REDUCING COSTS FOR OUR OLDER AUSTRALIANS• The Morrison Government is lowering fees for aged care delivered in the home.

• From 1 July 2019, a new basic daily fee will be set based on the customer’s home care package level, reducing fees by up to $400 annually for those on lower packages.

KEEPING AUSTRALIANS SAFE• The Morrison Government is boosting funding for our law enforcement and security agencies

with new money to flow from 1 July 2019.

• This includes over $58 million to support the work of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) to keep Australians safe, and over $147 million for the Home Affairs portfolio to strengthen law enforcement efforts to combat outlaw motorcycle gangs and the trafficking of illicit firearms and drugs.

COMBATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN• The Morrison Government will increase support the Fourth Action Plan of the National Plan

to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children.

• Record Commonwealth funding for the plan of $328 million is targeted to prevent violence before it happens, creating safe places for people experiencing domestic and family violence and sexual assault, support for the 1800RESPECT hotline, better information sharing between federal and state law enforcement, and combatting technology-facilitated abuse.

PROTECTING YOUR SUPERANNUATION• From 1 July 2019, new rules will come into effect to protect your superannuation, including

capping certain fees on low balance accounts and banning exit fees.

• The Government is also requiring the transfer of low balance and inactive accounts to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and enabling the ATO to proactively consolidate these amounts into an eligible active superannuation accounts.

GOING TO YOUR DOCTOR TO BECOME CHEAPER• From 1 July 2019, 180 General Practice services under Medicare will receive higher

Medicare rebates with the Government investing $187.2 million in rebates. This includes services such as health assessments, GP mental health items and after hours care.
