3. Reverse Bow: From the neutral bow rotate your front foot backward and adjust your weight distribution to 40/60. Keep your back straight.

B. Forms & Sets

A set is a series of hand motions executed while standing in a horse stance. A form is a synchronization of the arms and legs while executing defensive and offensive movements. Forms demonstrate that every Kenpo motion has an opposite and reverse. And when applicable, the forms show an example of these opposite and reverse motions. Kenpo forms are NOT simulated fights. Star Block Set

Short Form #1 In Short Form #1 we practice our blocks while stepping away into neutral bows. Each move has us facing a wall, so the plus sign (“+” ) is used to represent the footwork.

C. The Self-Defense Techniques

A self-defense technique is a prescribed response to a specific attack. Each technique has only one “ideal” way it should be run. 1. Delayed Sword (Right hand grab to the lapel)

1. Step back to a right neutral bow and execute a right inward blocking motion to remove his right hand.

2. Right front kick (bladder/groin). 3. Plant to a right neutral bow (11:00) and execute a right outward handsword (right side

of neck). 2. Aggressive Twins (Two-hand push to the chest)

1. Step back to a right neutral bow and execute a right inward block to the outside of the opponent’s left arm.

2. Right side kick (left knee joint), and plant back into the right neutral bow. 3. Left step-thru front kick (face), planting into a left neutral bow (12:00)

3. Sword of Destruction (Left roundhouse punch)

1. Step back to a right neutral bow and execute a right extended outward block to the roundhouse punch.

2. Right front kick (bladder/groin). 3. Plant to a right neutral bow (11:00) and execute a right inward whipping handsword
