Use your vacuum cleaner only as describedin this guide. Use only with Searsrecommended attachments.

Do not leave vacuum cleaner when pluggedin. Unplug from outlet when not in use andbefore performing servicing.

To reduce the risk of electrical shock - Donot useoutdoors or on wet surfaces.

Do not allow to be used as a toy. Closeattention is necessary when used by or nearchildren.

Do not usewith a damaged cord or plug.If vacuum cleaner is not working as itshould, has been dropped, damaged, leftoutdoors, or dropped in water, return it to aSears Service Center.

Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as ahandle, close a door on cord, or pull cordaround sharp edges or corners. Do not runvacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cordaway from heated surfaces.

Do not unplug by pulling on cord. Tounplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner withwet hands.

Do not put any objects into openings.

Do not use with any opening blocked; keepfree of dust, lint, hair, and anything thatmay reduce air flow.

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and allparts of body away from openings andmoving parts.

Turn off all controls before unplugging.

Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.Do not put on chairs, tables, etc. Keep onfloor.

Do not use vacuum cleaner to pick upflammable or combustible liquids (gasoline,cleaning fluid, perfumes, etc.), or use inareas where they may be present. Thefumes from these substances can create afire hazard or explosion.

Do not pick up anything that is burning orsmoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hotashes.

Do not usevacuum cleaner without dust binand/or filters in place.

Always empty the dust bin after vacuumingcarpet cleaners or freshener,powders, andfine dust. Theseproducts clog the filters,reduce airflow and can cause damage tothe vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so couldcause permanent damage to the vacuumcleaner.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner to pick upsharp hard objects, small toys, pins, paperclips, etc. They may damage the vacuumcleaner.

Do not operature the vacuum cleanerwithout the exhaust filter and filter door inplace.

Hold plugwhen rewinding onto cord reel.Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.

You are responsible for making sure thatyour vacuum cleaner is not used by anyoneunable to operate it properly.

Adjust the length of the wand while pushingthe slider wand adjust button.

The cord moves rapidly whenrewinding. Keep children awayand provide a clear path whenrewinding the cord to preventpersonal injury.

When any abnormality/failure occurs,stop using the product immediately anddisconnectthe power plug.

2. Plug the polarized power cord into a 120Volt outlet located near the floor.

3. Start or stopvacuum cleaner bypushing on theswitch.

To rewind: Turn off and unplug the vacuumcleaner. Hold the plug while rewinding toprevent damage or injury from the movingcord. Pushcord rewind button.

SUGGESTED SWEEPING PATTERN

For best cleaning action, the floor brushshouldbe pushed straight away from youand pulled straight back. At the end ofeach pull stroke, the direction of the nozzleshould be changed to point into the nextsection to be cleaned. This pattern shouldbe continued across the carpet with slow,gliding motions.

NOTE: Fast, jerkystrokesdo notprovide completecleaning.

THERMAL PROTECTOR

This vacuum cleaner has a thermalprotector which automatically trips toprotect the vacuum cleaner fromoverheating. If a clog prevents the normalflow of air to the motor, the thermalprotector turns the motor offautomatically. This allows the motor tocool in order to prevent possible damageto the vacuum cleaner.

To correct problem: Turn off and unplugvacuum cleaner to allow the vacuumcleaner to cool and the thermal protectorto reset. Check for and remove clogs, ifnecessary. See REMOVING CLOGS (page12). Also check and replace any cloggedfilters. Wait approximately thirty (30)minutes and plug the vacuum cleaner inand turn back on to check if the thermalprotector has reset.

REMOVING CLOGS

When the hose is clogged with dust,remove it in the following manner:

1. Pullout the handle by turning theremoval ring in either direction.

2. Remove any clogs in the handle. Shakethe hose to remove any clogs.

3. Insert the handle in place and return thering to its original position.

4. Check the dust filter cover in the dust binand clean if necessary (See DUST BINCLEANING, page 14).

5. Check the secondary filter and clean ifnecessary (SeeSECONDARY FILTERCLEANING, page 16).

6. Check exhaust filter and replace ifnecessary. (See REPLACING EXHAUSTFILTER,page 15).

Do not use the hose without the handle inplace. If the hose is used without thehandle, the hose will bend excessively,causing it to crack.

CLEANING EXTERIOR AND ATTACHMENTS

1. Turn off and unplug vacuum cleaner. DONOT drip water on vacuum cleaner.

2. To clean exterior, or to reduce staticelectricity and dust build-up, wipe outersurface of vacuum cleaner and attach-ments. Use a clean, soft cloth that hasbeen dipped in a solution of mild liquiddetergent and water, then wrung dry. Wipedry after cleaning.

Do not use attachments if they are wet.Attachments used in dirty areas, such asunder a refrigerator, should not be usedon other surfacesuntil they are washed.They could leave marks.

REPLACING EXHAUST FILTER

,_WARNINGAlways unplug power cord fromelectrical outlet before performing anyservice on vacuum cleaner.

Under normal usage, the HEPAmedia filterwill require replacement once every year.However, vacuuming large amounts ofextremely fine dust or similar material overa long period of time may decrease airflowperformance through the filter. If thisoccurs, it may become necessary toreplace the HEPAmedia filter more often.

To assure the best results,it isrecommended to change the filter at leastonce a year.

1. Open thefilter cover bypressing therelease latchat the bottomof the filtercover andlifting out andup.

QUITAR DE LOS RESIDUOS DE BASURA EN LOS CONDUCTOS
