Letters of RecommendationMelissa KaleytaNexteer Automotive ~ Prototype Operations2975 Nodular DriveSaginaw, MI [email protected] 30, 2013  Kelsey QuickDelta InternDelta College1961 Delta RoadUniversity Center, MI 48710 To Whom It May Concern: Delta College has employed Kelsey Quick as an intern at Nexteer ~ Prototype Operations. For more than two years she has been employed with our Purchasing Department and also had front desk responsibilities. She has completed the 3 + 1 Program at Delta College and is now completing her college education at Northwood University and is no longer eligible to continue her internship her at Nexteer, a fact in which we are un-happy to report. Kelsey was a great asset to Nexteer Prototype. As part of her former responsibilities, Kelsey worked directly with the Purchasing Department by matching PO’s and daily, coping, mailing, faxing and scanning, which is very important to ensure our suppliers received the correct documentation. Kelsey also was responsible as our receptionist, a role in which our visitors enjoyed, as being the first interaction when visiting our facility she is always friendly and very helpful in directing their inquiries. She also had many other general office duties and could work with little or no supervision on any project given. I believe that Kelsey would be an excellent addition to any company as she is a very hard worker, prompt, a self-starter and is a consistent contributor to the business. If you would like additional information you can telephone me at 989-757-3336. Sincerely,   Melissa KaleytaPurchasing Support

Global Warming: A Human Made Crisis

Over the past few decades, the average temperature of the Earth has been dramatically increasing, and is expected to keep increasing, which can only result with a traumatic ending. According to the National Geographic website, many terrible changes could happen. Hurricanes and other storms are likely to be stronger. Floods and droughts will become more common. Less fresh water will be available and more diseases will spread, such as malaria (National Geographic Society). These severe effects will happen if humans continue to live the lives that they are living. I believe the Earth’s climate increase is from the harmful emissions by humans and it is endangering the place we live.

Humans have brought this problem on themselves. Almost every scientist that has researched this topic has come to the conclusion that the temperature rise has been caused by greenhouses gases. Greenhouses gases are gases in the atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation from the sun. Our lives revolve around cars and factory made products. Both of these burn tremendous amounts of fossil fuels daily. The biggest fossil fuels used are coal and oil. Burning fossil fuels has been proven to increase the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a leading greenhouse gas, along with water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. In the article “China needs help with climate change” it stated that China is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases. This is from a result of China’s rapid economic growth and rising demand for energy (Gallagher 389-394).
