in Frauental/Styria, which operates internationally. We have been
producing traditional and unique separating hood compressor and
cooling systems for diverse applications for more than 60 years.

SEPARATING HOOD COMPRESSOR
We begin with the traditional Frigopol sepa-
rating hood compressor and the related fre-
quency-controlled compressors and conden-
sing units incl. accessories.
CONDENSING UNITS
Further we introduce the condensing units
as well as the multicompressor rack with our
own and purchased compressors of other la-
bels.
GREEN POINT
For the sake of the environment and in order
to round o! the product range, we also o! er
refrigerant recovery units and Green Point.
Frigopol provides for own compressors and
as a Green Point partner for compressor (Bit-
zer) reliable repair and maintenance services
by trained sta! . Environmental thought: Re-
pairing instead of dumping means recycling
and saving raw materials as well as energy.

WIth a multitude of new products in the sec-
tion of „It's natural! Frigopol“ our company
offers reliable answers concerning sustain-
ability and environmental friendliness. The
series „It's natural! Frigopol“ combines all of
the following aspects: for energy efficiant
and environmental friendly facilities with a
low GWP (global warming-potential / green-
house e! ect), we employ diverse natural re-
frigerant such as carbon dioxide (CO2, R744),
ammoniac (NH3, R-717) or propane (R-290)
as well as the HFO-refrigerant R-1234ze
(HFO - Hydro-Fluor-Olefine). For air-cooled
and water-cooled units we use reciprocating
compressor, screw compressor, turbocom-
pressor (Turbocor).

worket out together with customers and
partners, in order to meet the requirements

deploy engineering and know-how focusing
the realisation for special facilities. Econo-

The separating hood compressor is built as a 2- or 3-cylinder com-
pressor and o� ers high level reliability of operation through thermal
relief of highly stressed components while reaching high cooling ca-
pacities and performance � gures. The actual compressor-generation
is o� ered for all common refrigerant as well as NH3 (R-717).
DESIGN FEATURES
The SEGMENT CONNECTING ROD enable an arrangement of the
cylinders in one horizontal level. Because of the positioning thereby
the 2- and 3-cylinder compressors run very quiet and nearly vibrati-
on-free.
NO STUFFING BOX or other shaft sealing, which might cause a loss
of refrigerant or requires permanent obeservation and service.
NO CABLE GLAND, which might also lead to a loss of refrigerant.
NO CONTAMINATION of the cooling system in case of electrical
short-circuit of the stators, as it is built up external. Its replacement
only requires a few steps. The compressor is then ready for operation
without expensive cleanings and re� llings of the refrigerating plant.
NO V-BELT, no other drive element, which has to be periodically
replaced or somehow serviced.
POWER RATING
The stated refrigerating perfomances are based on ISO9309 (DIN
8928) at 50Hz (1450min-1). The adjustment to EN 12900 occur later
on. Values for a 60Hz-operation on demand.
OPERATING LIMITS
The operating limits of the respective compressors is set with a
maximum discharge pipe temperature of 130°C immediately after
discharge of the compressor housing.
The application limits of the motor was identi� ed at 43°C at conti-
nuous operation. The application limits must be complied in order
to make a warranty claim for occured damages.
FREQUENCY CONTROL
The control by frequency converter can occur between 15-75Hz (de-
pending on the model).

We trust in the importance of the professional and correct extracti-
on of refrigerant by such stations. Also, we prefer the repair of defect
compressors instead of just replacing them. For this purpose we
created a new product sector, to which „Green Point“ and the refri-
gerant-recovery units belong!
No matter if looking at maintenance purposes, at refrigerant-exch-
ange or at the disposal, there will always be situations where the ref-
rigerant needs to be taken out of a cooling system.
With the Frigopol-separating hood compressor the refrigerant can
be pumped out in a gaseous state. Therefore the system will be al-
most fully drained. The recovery unit is suitable for conventional ref-
rigerant (CFC, HFC, HFO, etc.) and natural refrigerants (NH3).

Cooling facilities with natural refrigerant become more and more

The designing, planning and the engineering of all components and
parts was particularly made for the refrigerant R-1234ze.
The features of R-1234ze are:

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Our work prepaires the air-cooled chiller fully installable for the
on-site-installation. Every single factory made system is pressure tes-
ted and ! lled with nitrogen afterwards. The ready-to-insert imple-
mentation includes the cooling part as well as the electric cabinet
and the related, for application optimated and prede! ned control.
The chiller is manufactured with one refrigerat circuit up to the ca-
pacity of 500kW and from 550kW-1000kW it has two circuits.. The
air-cooled chiller FP-AC1234 works as DX (direct expansion)-sys-
tem. Each refrigeration circuit is equipped with a screw compressor,
which is either rigid or controlled by a frequency converter.
The air-cooled condenser and the housing are built on a base frame
made of galvanized steel. The panels or doors can simply be opened
and closed by a cabinet key. The epoxy-polyester coating is burnt
in at 180°C and offers ideal protection through the high surface
strength. Inside the housing is the electric cabinet, which is acces-
sible through lockable doors from the outside. The control device's
display is approachable for service purposes through a viewing
window. The exhaust fan according to EN 378 in EX-safety imple-
mentation, is installed inside the housing and is in case of outside
installation protected against moisture.
The housing (interior space) is monitored through a gas detector,
which in the event of refrigerant leakage immediately switches o#
the unit and starts the exhaust fan. The chiller is manufactured for
inside and outside installation and therefore suitable for these areas
according to guidelines of EN 378.

The interpretation, planning and the engineering of all compo-
nents and building parts was particularly made for the refrigerant
R-1234ze.
The features of R-1234ze are:
■ GWP (Global Warming Potential): 7
■ ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential): 0
■ Categorisation in class A2L by EN 378
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The series of the sole/water-cooled chiller is being mounted, so it
is prepaired for an on-site-installation. The chillers of the series FP-
WC1234 are pressure tested, then ! lled with nitrogen and handed
out for delivery.
The ready-to-plug-in constrution includes the refrigeration as well
as the electric cabinet and the related regulation, which is precauti-
onary optimated and preset for application. The water-cooled chiller
is single-circuit up to the power of 550kW concerning refrigeration,
with the power of 600kW-1100kW it performs as a dual circuit sys-
tem. The air-cooled chiller FP-WC1234 works as DX (direct expansi-
on)-system.
All components are installed by the factory, so on site there are no
internal tasks at the cooling and water cycle necessary. The chiller is
made for inside or outside installation and is therefore suitable for all
areas, according to the demand of EN 378.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Our work prepaires the air-cooled chiller fully installable for the
on-site-installation. Every single system is pressure tested and ! lled
with nitrogen afterwards. The ready-to-insert implementation inclu-
des the cooling part as well as the electric cabinet and the related,
for application optimated and predefined control. The air-cooled
chiller FP-AC717 is single-circuit concerning refrigeration, but per-
forms with two compressors. The chiller is operated as a flooded
mode. Up to the power of 310kW the chiller is equipped with an
open reciprocating compressor; from 400kW it is equipped with
screw compressors. The regulation of the chiller occurs in 4 perfor-
mance levels.
All components needed and ordered for the automatic function, are
by the factory, so on site there are no internal tasks at the cooling
and water cycle necessary. The chiller is made for inside or outside
installation and is therefore suitable for all areas, according to the
demand of EN 378.
IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS

on low and high pressure side
■ Synchronous motor 400V / 50Hz / mode 50Hz, coupling and
coupling housing assembled on the basic frame for inside
and outside installation

■ Shuttle valve with two safety valves built on the oil separa-
tor
■ Compact condenser with housing for the outside installati-
on built on the basic frame
■ EC-condenser fan
■ Liquid line with ! lter and stainless steel insert, ! lling valve
and stop valve
■ Flooded evaporators/separator combination in Plate & Shell
capacity
■ Electronical expansion valve for the " ooded mode

separator for level monitoring

WC717 are pressure tested, then filled with nitrogen and handed
out for delivery. The ready-to-plug-in constrution includes the refri-
geration as well as the electric cabinet and the related regulation,
which is precautionary optimated and preset for application.
The chiller is single-circuit concerning refrigeration, but performs
with two compressors.The chiller is operated as a ! ooded mode. Up
to the power of 330kW the chiller is equipped with an open recipro-
cating compressor; from 450kW it is equipped with screw compres-
sors. The regulation of the chiller occurs in 4 performance levels.
All components are installed by the factory, so on site there are no
internal tasks at the cooling and water cycle necessary. The chiller is
made for inside or outside installation and is therefore suitable for all
areas, according to the demand of EN 378.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Our work prepaires the air-cooled chiller fully installable for the
on-site-installation. Every single system is pressure tested and ! lled
with nitrogen afterwards. The ready-to-insert implementation inclu-
des the cooling part as well as the electric cabinet and the related,
for application optimated and prede! ned control.
The chiller is dual-circuit up to the power of 230kW concerning re-
frigeration, with the power of 250kW-350kW it performs as a three
circuit system.
The air-cooled chiller FP-AC290 works as DX (direct expansion)-sys-
tem. Each refrigeration cycle is equipped with a piston compressor,
which is capacity-controlled in steps or by a frequency inverter. The
air-cooled chiller and the housing are built on galvanised steel. The
panels or doors can be opened up or closed via a cabinet key. The
epoxy-poyester coating is burnet in at 180°C and o# ers optimum
protection through very high surface strength. Inside the housing
also the cabinet is placed, which is accessible through lockable
doors from the outside. The display of the control device for service
purposes is accessible through a viewing window on the cabinet
door. The exhaust fan according to EN 378 in EX-safety design is built
into the housing and protected against moisture in case of outside
installation. All housings (inside) are monitored by a gas detector,
which in the event of refrigerant leakage immediately switches o#
the unit and starts the exhaust fan. The chiller is made for inside and
outside installation and is suitable for the areas according to the
speci! cations of EN 278.
All components needed and ordered for the automatic function, are
installed by the factory, so on site there are no internal tasks at the

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The energy station ES Basic works like a heat pump or refrigerating
machine and can cool, heat up and prepare service water!
The use of primary sources such as soil, ground water or other enab-
les high energy e" ciancy.
The device series of the energy stations ES Basic has a power range
of 40-250kW. Die single-circuit modells 40-65 and multi-circuit per-
formance starting at size 80 o# er an optimal range of application
and high operational safety for complex applications. Via capacity
and frequency controlled compressors and electronical expansion
valves devices for load-dependent continuous operation at supreme
COP or EER assets are designed.
The device represents an own engine room and is built up modular.
It consists of a steel frame and galvanised covering panels. The co-
vering panels as well as the frame are coated with optimal sound in-
sulation made out of composite (foam). The explosion-proof fan for
forced ventilation of the machine is carried out inside of an external
housing for separate installation. The engine room is monitored by
a gas detector.
IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS
The low-noise reciprocating compressor in multi-cylinder design are
powered by a suction-gas cooled motor. The standard control takes
place through inverter technique. The second compressor is rigidly
controlled through a control.
Condenser and evaporator as soldered plate heat exchanger (stain-
less steel AISI 316).

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The air-cooled chiller is ready for connection. All components are in-
stalled on the basic frame. We run a test of the cabinet and the con-
trol at our plant. The turbo-compressor is an oil open stored radial
turbo compressor. The shaft is held in position through contactless
magnet bearings with a run-! at system. Through electronic regu-
lation and control it is secured and adjusted in the right position.
Therefore abrasion of the rotating parts can be avoided. An external
operation of little sound and vibration can be ensured through mag-
netic bearings. The cooling capacity of the chiller is created through
a circle with one or more compressors. The continuous regulation
occurs through speed control over pulse width modulation (PWM)
with electrical adjustable impeller.
Due to variable-speed drives and a thereby connected smooth start
the compressor starts with a starting current of 5 ampere and smoo-
thly increases the power consumption until the needed operating
current is reached. The chiller can be set up inside and outside of
buildings. However the exhibition area must meet the speci" cations
of EN 378 and additionally correspond to all of the local norms and
requirements.
IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS

■ The coat, tube sheets, cover and vessel closings of the
evaporator are all made out of steel, is a horizontal bundle
pipe evaporator with an inside gravity separator and in
integrated supercooler. The water space is mechanically cle-
anable and built with a vent and dran connection. The water
spaces are equipped with Victaulic-couplings.
■ The housing is monitored through a gas detector, which in
the event of refrigerant leakage immediately switches o#
the unit and starts the exhaust fan.
■ Inside the cabinet (grounding design) the main and control
wiring in plastic cable channels are placed and carried out
on terminals on the outgoing side.
■ All necessary elements and security devices are built in for
the regulation, control and monitoring of the unit.
It is regulated by a SPS with touchpanel. ModBus-communication
between SPS and interface module is possible and any fault and
procedural message is digitally handed on to the freely program-
mable control.

The interpretation, planning and the engineering of all compo-
nents and building parts was particularly made for the refrigerant
R-1234ze.
The features of R-1234ze are:

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The air-cooled chiller is ready for connection. All components are in-
stalled on the basic frame. We run a test of the cabinet and the con-
trol at our plant.
The turbo-compressor is an oil open stored radial turbo compressor.
The shaft is held in position through contactless magnet bearings
with a run-! at system. Through electronic regulation and control it is
secured and adjusted in the right position. Therefore abrasion of the
rotating parts can be avoided. An external operation of little sound
and vibration can be ensured through magnetic bearings. The coo-
ling capacity of the chiller is created through a circle with one or
more compressors. The continuous regulation occurs through speed
control over pulse width modulation (PWM) with electrical adjusta-
ble impeller.
Due to variable-speed drives and a thereby connected smooth start
the compressor starts with a starting current of 5 ampere and smoo-
thly increases the power consumption until the needed operating
current is reached. The chiller can be set up inside and outside of
buildings. However the exhibition area must meet the speci" cations
of EN 378 and additionally correspond to all of the local norms and
requirements.
IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS

■ The coat, tube sheets, cover and vessel closings of the
evaporator are all made out of steel, is a horizontal bundle
pipe evaporator with an inside gravity separator and in
integrated supercooler. The water space is mechanically cle-
anable and built with a vent and dran connection. The water
spaces are equipped with Victaulic-couplings.
■ The housing is monitored through a gas detector, which in
the event of refrigerant leakage immediately switches o#
the unit and starts the exhaust fan.
■ Inside the cabinet (grounding design) the main and control
wiring in plastic cable channels are placed and carried out
on terminals on the outgoing side.
■ All necessary switchgears, control and security devices are
built in for the regulation, control and monitoring of the
refrigerator machine unit.
It is regulated by a SPS with touchpanel. ModBus-communication
between SPS and interface module is possible and any fault and
procedural message is digitally handed on to the freely program-
mable control.
