Presenter:Mark DunnMcAnany Oil CompanyOlathe, KS I grew up in the lubricants industry. When I was born my dad was working for Sinclair delivering industrial lubricants, and even-tually owned his own fuel and lubricants distributorship. Since I started at such a young age, I developed a foundation for the dif-ferent lubricating oils and greases. When I began attending train-ing sessions provided by the oil companies, I was able to learn and understand the principles and fundamentals required to work with industrial lubricants. I was also fortunate to work with many field engineers that would assist us at the lubricant distributor level with lubricant application towards earning business. I have receive training from many of the major oil compa-nies. Gulf, Amoco, Exxon, Citgo, Cato/Mystik, Century/Fuchs, 76, ConocoPhillips and Chevron to name a few. Filtration training from Baldwin, and fuel additive training from several companies. I have receive training on lab analysis and condition monitoring from ALS Laboratories and Century/Fuchs, anti-freeze training from Chevron, and DEF training from various sources. Again, my years of experience allows me to understand the principles and fundamentals being taught. As cleanliness codes become part of the equation, no problem. I can show the components and their cleanliness code recommendations. I can show you what the num-bers mean, how do you get there, and how do you stay there. Today I am able to develop presentations for various lubricant needs and for maintaining fuel quality. Particularly for stand-by power generators. In 2014 I became an adjunct instructor at the Kansas City Metropolitan Community Colleges Business and Tech-nical Center. When needed, I provide training on Fundamentals of Industrial Lubricants. When I work with maintenance teams today, I am able to sup-ply the products they need, and a solid understanding of its fea-tures for their use.

President’s ReportFirst off, I’d like to thank those who attended our last event. I think it was a great success and I hope to see the same turn out at the next speaker event coming up this Month. As I stated in the last message this year we are putting a large focus on communicating to our members all things SPE KC. I hope everyone has visited our Facebook page, if not please click on the link Society of Plastic Engineers - Kansas City. It’s a great way to get connected and place a face with a name. Also, with the magic of social media cross-connection you may be interested in connecting to a member’s professional page via LinkedIn. We are moving along nicely with the re-vamping of the SPEKC.org website and hope to have it up and running mid-summer. SPE is also looking to put on a causal golf outing sometime in June, please look at the Golf Outing section for details. Lastly, we will have representation at the annual SPE council meeting in Indianapolis. If you are ANTEC this year be sure to look us up and say hello to Paul Herring and Ray Shute. KC CHAPTER2016 SPE GOLF OUTING
Location and Time TBD:With the turn of spring we’ll turn to out-door events to lessen the stresses cre-ated from our busy lives. SPE would like to present to you another outdoor event that can add to relieve. We would like to invite the interested out to a causal golf outing. This will be a typical 2 to 4 man scramble, dependent on the number of attendants. As of now we are planning some time mid June. The winning team will have their names placed on a trophy and their pictures in the newsletter fol-lowing the event. Please look out for an email in the next
month or so detailing the specifics. If you have any suggestions or comments on the golf outing please contact Jon Gilligan or Trent Williams.
The SPE KC Chapter donated two $500 scholarships to the Pitt State plastics program. The two student winners were:
Carlos Millanez, incoming freshman from Fort Riley, Kansas. He attended Junction City High School where he was very active in Army Junior ROTC as well as football and wrestling.
Kylie Declue, incoming freshman from Parkville, Missouri. She attended Park Hill South High School where she excelled in Music and Track & Field

First comes thought; Then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; Then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.
