Dear Friends

We have been asked to make a lot of changes We do not do the same work Our Cateringand Program employees are working in Production serving customers they will never meetOur administrators are working alongside lawyers bankers and civil servants complying withlaws on which the ink has yet to dry We do not work in the same places We work inwindowless buildings behind closed office doors and at our dining room tables We do noteven look the same Bangs are too long beards and mustaches are shaven and smiles arehidden behind face masks Still we work for the same reason acirceuroldquo we work to support theKANDU mission Today it is raining outside and it would be easy to be melancholy but we are not because weknow We know the day is coming when our Program staff will stand at our doors greeting ourreturning clients our clients will travel down our halls laughing teasing and bickering witheach other and our Catering staff will prepare meals for parties at the Armory flowers forweddings in the park and set-up tables and chairs for meetings at the Pontiac ConventionCenter In the meantime we are proud to work with our Production staff labeling food that willstock supermarket shelves packaging components that will equip farms and ranchesassembling generators that will power homes and businesses and preparing hazmat bagsthat will supply hospitals as well as in Administration ensuring our employees are safe andour future is secure Yes we have been asked to make a lot of changes but what is important has not changedWe know our mission and we know better days lie ahead

Accommodating Change Throughout the past month KANDU and Best Events staff have demonstrated exceptionalversatility and tenacity when adapting to changing circumstances Everyone has cometogether to step outside of their usual roles and help produce goods needed by customersand our community Many who typically work in client services and catering are now helpingin the kitchen and on the production floor learning new skills ranging from the proper use ofgluestaple guns and hand jacks to palletizing and product inspection Production staff arealso taking on new jobs and organizing new processes while orchestrating which jobs areassigned to each facility The administrative team meets daily to stay up to date on everchanging developments and expand strategies for keeping everyone safe Regardless ofwhatacirceurotrades going on in the world KANDU and Best Events will continue to harness teamworkand creativity to support Rock County

Humans of KANDU In 2011 two days before my 18th birthday I was hired at Best Events as wait staff Afterabout three years of dedication I was promoted to Event Manager while in college at UW-Whitewater After graduating in December I used my education to take a different path atKANDU and I got the job as a Development Assistant where I continue to help the companyon the front lines and behind the scenes My favorite thing about working at KANDU is beingable to take pride in my work while giving back to individuals in need My favorite memories come from working company employee or customer appreciationpicnics with Best Events especially Mercy Health and Blackhawk Credit Union It proved howmuch care and effort Best Events Catering could put in when the team came together - Andrew Galauner Development Assistant Stories from our everyday heroeshttpwwwkanduindustriescomhumansofkandu
