PRESIDENT BEV’S MESSAGE Hi Lions It was a lovely night when we went to the charter of the new lions club Melbourne City - Southbank. I was very pleased to see so many of our members and partners go along to show our support. We lost one of our lions Amy to them, our loss their gain. It was good to catch up with Amy and Phil did you know they are engaged, congratulations to them and I wish them all the best for the future. Marc and Heather are going away to Italy for three weeks , poor things I suppose someone has to do it. Bon Voyage for a wonderful trip and a safe journey. I asked them if they wanted me to carry their suitcase but they declined the offer. Tonight is the Youth of the Year ,we have not done that for a long time I wish all the contestants well, thank you Phillip and Rodney for all the work you have put in for organizing it . Happy birthday to everyone celebrating theirs this month To all the sickies I hope you get well real soon see you at the next business meeting

<oOo> Brothel sues Church An interesting turn of events in Bundaberg Queensland... Diamond D's brothel began construction on an expansion of their building to increase their ev-er-growing business. In response, the local Baptist Church started a campaign to block the business from expand-ing -- with morning, afternoon, and evening prayer sessions at their church. Work on Diamond D's progressed right up until the week before the grand reopening when lightning struck the whorehouse and burned it to the ground! After the cat-house was burned to the ground by the lightning strike, the church folks were ra-ther smug in their outlook, bragging about "the power of prayer. But late last week 'Big Jugs' Jill Diamond, the owner/madam, sued the church, the preacher and the entire congregation on the grounds that the church ... "was ultimately responsible for the demise of her building and her business -- either through direct or indirect divine actions or means." In its reply to the court, the church vehemently and vociferously denied any and all responsibil-ity or any connection to the building's demise. The crusty old judge read through the plaintiff's complaint and the defendant's reply, and at the opening hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this case, but it appears from the paperwork, that we have a whorehouse owner who staunchly believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that thinks it’s all bulls**t.
