Kindergarten - Claire RossCongratulations to all Kindergarten students on a fantastic first year at school. What a great year we have had! Thank you to all the parents and carers who have assisted in our classroom routines this year.Could all home readers now be returned as well as any library books students may have as home. During the week students will take home all personal belongings including school books. I hope you have a chance over the break to look through these books with your child. On Friday, we are having a pool party; please bring a plate of food to share for our picnic as well as swimmers, towel, rash vest and sunscreen as well as your season ticket or $1.50 entry PLUS $1.00 for the hire of the pool. A big thank you from K/1 to Mr Graham for all his hard work this year as our principal, we wish him Good Luck.Have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break.

Year 1 / Year 2Emma Byles / Sarah SheatherCongratulations to all the children in Year 1/2 for such a great year. I know each and every one of you has worked really hard to become organised and independent learners and produced some fantastic work along the way. Just a couple of little reminders – on Friday the children in Year 1/2 will be singing at the club (10am) and then going to the pool to have a swim and celebrate the end of year class party. Children are asked to bring a small plate of food to share for the party. To all, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy some relaxing family time during the holidays.

Year 2 / Year 3Jolonna Brand / Justin GrahamCongratulations to our class award winners at presentation night. There were many wonderful learners in our classroom who didn’t win awards. We encourage you to keep challenging yourselves and enjoying your learning. Good luck next year with your new teacher, you’ll make new friendships and discover new types of learning. We hope you can take away many great things about yourself as a person and as a learner. We are very proud of you all.

Year 4 / Year 5 - Mary ListonLast week of the year and I would like to wish everyone a very safe holiday and a Happy Christmas and every best wish for the New Year. I have enjoyed teaching your child/ren this year and we have had some great times and a few challenges but that is all part of a classroom. Home Learning reward takes place for students who have completed a whole term of work attempted and returned. Those students do not need to bring lunch on Thursday. Many students were close and some have increased their efforts, so well done to all.Our class party will take place for recess next Friday at school. We are not having a pool party due to restricted grass area at pool. Please bring a plate of food to share and think healthy too, as this time of year we all benefit from more healthy food, thank you.All students will attend swimming for sport this Friday; see Sports Notes for more details.

Year 5 / Year 6 - Joanne MalmoWhat a fabulous evening we had last night, what a way to complete your primary schooling. Thank you to Mrs Liston and Year 5 for setting up the club and hosting the evening, you helped make the night so special for everyone. The mini fete was a resounding success today, raising $600 and the Year 6 students should be proud of their organisation and fundraising efforts. The funds from today will be used to purchase a new sundial for the rose garden, this is the Year 6s parting gift to the school. The class party will be held at school at 11.30am prior to swimming at the pool. These are my last notes for 2016, so I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the students, families and friends for their support this year. It has been an extremely busy year and I hope the year 6 students leave Henty Public School with fond memories of their final year. Finally, I wish you and your families a very happy and safe Christmas and I look forward to sharing future successes with all students in 2017.

Farewell Year 6. We will miss you!!!
