YOU CAN CUT AND REMOVE: All species of standing dead trees or down dead trees, less Than 24” in diam eter (75” circum ference), m easured 12 inches above the root collar, located within 150’ of the road edge. Roads open to w oodcutting are high ligh ted in yellow on m ap. AREA RULES AND REGULATIONS: In addition to Rules and Regulations listed in your 2020 Central Oregon Personal Use Firew ood Synopsis, the following rules apply: V ehicles m ust stay on roads or road sh oulders. (Road sh oulder defined as within 20’ of the road edge). Off-road travel is not allowed.

Travel Managem ent: Motorized travel for the purpose of firew ood harvest m ust com ply with restrictions found on Forest Service Motor V ehicle Use Maps. Seasonal closures including Fox Butte Green Dot from Sept. 23rd 2020 to Oct. 7th 2020 will be enforced.

No winching of m aterial is allowed. Do not cut, rem ove, or disturb m aterial that has been piled for burning.

Slash m ust be lopped and scattered so that it lies no m ore than 12 inches from the ground. All slash m ust be k ept clear of roads and ditches.

This m ap, along with the Central Oregon Personal Use Firew ood Synopsis, perm it and load tags m ust be in the possession of the perm ittee w hile cutting, loading, and transporting firew ood.

Leave gates as found to facilitate cattle grazing. Under the Archaeological Resource Protection Act it is illegal to dam age, deface, excavate, or rem ove objects at archaeological sites, punishable by prison tim e and a substantial fine.

Woodcutting is prohibited in the following areas: • Roads not high ligh ted in yellow as open to w oodcutting. (These areas include, but are not lim ited to: Newberry National V olcanic Monum ent, old grow th areas, and Research natural areas)

• All posted tim ber sales. • Within 300’ of all utility lines • Within ¼ m ile of developed recreation sites. • Within 200’ of any cave. • Within 300’ of riparian areas (Defined as springs, stream s, wet m eadow s, floodplains and overflow channels).

• All other areas posted closed to w oodcutting.
