About MePrint Design + Branding + Motion Graphics

BioHello, my name is Kiyombo Andrew. I have over 8 years worth of design experience in areas of logo design, print, branding, motion graphics and offer design services to businesses of all sizes throughout East Africa. The aim is to ultimately improve their bottom line by crafting creative solutions to their business problems and implementing marketing promotions for businesses such as logos, letterhead, business cards, packaging and more.

You could describe a ‘brand’ as an organisation, service or product with a ‘personality’ that is shaped by the perceptions of the audience. A designer forms the foundation of the brand. You might say that a brand is a ‘corporate image’.

The fundamental idea and core concept behind having a ‘corporate image’ is that everything a company does, everything it owns and everything it produces should reflect the values and aims of the business as a whole.

One major role in the ‘brand’ or ‘corporate image’ of a company is its identity.

The identity or ‘image’ of a company is made up of many visual devices:The Logo, Stationery (Letterhead + business card), Marketing Collateral (Flyers, brochures, books, websites), Products & Packaging, Apparel Design (Tangible clothing items that are worn by employees) and Signage (Interior & exterior design).

Anything visual that represents the business.

Editorial design is a fascinating field that combines our abilities for creative typography, smart layouts and clever compositions. All around the world people wake up early and stay up late creating compositions that millions get a hold of in the form of newspapers, magazines and books.

Effective design means creating pages that communicate immediately with readers. This means your content is accessible, comprehensible and memorable.

It’s imperative that you know your audience and design for them accordingly.In the same way that the reader must be able to identify with the tone of voice of the publication, the design must also speak to them, whether that be in an overt way or on a more subtle subconscious level.

A logo is for… identification.

There are five principles that you should follow to ensure that this is so…• Simplicity•Memorable• Timeless • Versatile•Appropriate

A logo identifies a company or product via the use of a mark, flag, symbol or signature. A logo does not sell the company directly nor rarely does it describe a business. Logo’s derive their meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolises, not the other way around – logos are there to identify, not to explain. In a nutshell, what a logo means is more important than what it looks like.

It is also important to note that only after a logo becomes familiar, does it function the way it is intended to do much like how we much must learn people’s names to identify them.

The logo identifies a business or product in its simplest form.

Nothing breathes life into static content better than the use of motion graphics.

Motion graphics combines the languages of film, animation and graphic design, combining different creative elements like typography, illustration, logos, pictures, shapes and video. These elements are then animated or moved in a way that tells a story.

They can be compelling and captivating loops of amazing animation, packed into a few seconds. Increasingly in demand for an internet audiences short attention span.


Crane Bank, founded in the year 1995, now in its 21st year of operations has grown to become one of Uganda’s largest locally owned Ugandan commercial banks.

Above are some screen shots of an animation on saving tips that can be run in the various banking halls and social media platforms.

Orange believes that customer experience and ethical relations go hand in hand. The digital revolution cannot take place unless everyone is firmly committed to the challenges of security and the protection of personal data.

The Screen shots capture an orange campaign to push for 3G unlimited data bundles across the country. The commercial run on all media platforms.

The Rwanda Journalists Association [ARJ] is the professional body that brings together all journalists and media practioners in Rwanda.

The task was to creat titles of the award categories to run across the screen as the different winners in the specific categories were announced.
