Just a Kid

It was no funBeing a little one

My arm was pulled outFrom being dragged about

By a grownup demon

I was told when to get upAnd how and what to sup

Constantly directedScrubbed and disinfected

As if I were only a pup

Did they not really seeUnderneath was a real 'Me'?

This small creatureHad a unique feature

Simply wanting to be - Let be

Though they are good-heartedMy wishes are not regarded

If my mom and popWould only grow up

I would not be over-guarded

Then much to soon - I didLose my 'Baby-Id'

While to adult-size I growThey still don't knowI am still - Just a kid!
