About Jurong Port

Multi-purpose facilities at the main terminal enable the loading and

unloading of:

• Dry and liquid bulk cargo

• General cargo, including heavy-lift project cargo

• Containerised cargo

Besidesthemainterminal,JurongPortoperatestheOffshoreMarineCentre,amulti-user

waterfrontfacilityprovidingportservicestocompaniesengagedinfabricationofmarine

andoffshoreequipment.Italsooperatestwoseperatelighterterminalscateringtovessel

craftsthatprovidesuppliestoshipscallingatSingapore.

Internationally, Jurong Port operates two joint venture terminals in China – Rizhao in

Shandong province, andYangpu on Hainan island. It is currently exploring other joint

ventureterminalsintheregion.

Headquartered in Singapore, Jurong Port is a leading international multi-purpose port

operatorhandlinggeneral,bulkandcontainerisedcargo.

Jurong Port began operations in 1965 as a general and bulk cargo port, serving the

development needs of Singapore’s Jurong industrial estate. Today, its main gateway

terminalinSingaporewelcomesmorethan17,000vesselseachyearfromboththeregion

andinternationally.

The main terminal has 32 berths capable of serving the varied needs of the maritime

industry.Itsberths,withdraftsrangingfrom5to16metres,canaccommodatevesselsof

upto150,000deadweighttonnes.Withintheterminal,thereare174,000squaremetresof

warehousefacilitiesandoneofthelargestcommon-usercementterminalsintheworld.

The Jurong Port Administration Building, where the company’s

headquarters is based, was awarded the Green Mark Platinum

AwardbytheBuildingandConstructionAuthority(BCA)ofSingapore

in2012.ThisawardrecognizesJurongPort’ssuccessincreatingan

environment-friendlyworkspace.

From 2008 to 2011, Jurong Port received the AFSCA Award for the “Best Container

TerminalOperatorinAsia(under1-millionTEUscategory)”.

For the use of technology, the port received the “Most Innovative Use of Infocomm

Technology”(PrivateSector)–MeritAwardattheSingaporeNationalInfocommAwards

2010.For itssafetymanagement,JurongPortwonthe“Achievement inSafety”Award

attheLloyd’sListAsiaAwards2009.

on1January2001.

The port was named the “Asia Pacific Multi-PurposeTerminal

OperatoroftheYear(AsiaPacific)”byFrost&Sullivanforthree

consecutive years, 2010 – 2012.This award recognises Jurong

Port’s achievements inmanaging theshift in consumerdemand,sustaining innovation,

retaining talent, focusingonstrategic transactions, addressingenvironmental concerns

andensuringregulatorycompliance.

General Cargo Handling

Jurong Port’s general cargo berths handle vessels that carry a diverse range of cargo,

includingsteel products, project cargoandmachinery.Theberths,withdraftsofup to

16metres,aresupportedbywell-developed infrastructuressuchaswideaprons,open

storageyardsandmodernwarehouses.

Ourport is equippedwith two roll-on roll-offmechanical ramps for berthingof landing

craftsatalltidelevels.Thereisalsoacraftterminalforberthingofwoodencrafts.Forlarge-

sizedandheavy-liftprojectcargo,theportisequippedwithmodernhandlingequipment

forcost-effectivecargohandling.

Transit warehouses adjacent to the berths

are available to provide easy ship-to-

shore movements as well as wide wharf

apron areas for loading and discharging

operations. In addition, the port has ample

column-free warehouses within its Free

Trade Zone. Dedicated warehouses are

accredited by the London Metal Exchange

(LME) for the storage of traded metals.

JurongPort’sbulkcargoberthshandlecement,sugar,aswellasotherdryandliquidcargo.

Oneoftheworld’slargestdedicatedcommon-usercementfacilityislocatedwithinour

port, where more than 90% of cement throughput into Singapore is processed.The

cement berths are equipped with a comprehensive network of conveyors, including

common and dedicated unloaders, to ensure non-pollutive and efficient handling of

cement.Withunloadersoperatingatamaximumratedcapacityof800tonnesperhour,

bulkcementisspeedilydischargedfromvesselsdirectlytocustomers’storagefacilities.

This translates into faster vessel turnaround, increase in shipment deliveries and cost

savingsonstevedoringcharges.

Othernon-cementcargoeslikecopperslag,furnaceslagandlimestonecanalsobehandled

usingspecialisedunloadingcranes.Theliquidbulkberthsareequippedwithpipelinesto

moveliquidcargoessuchaslubricatingoilstoandfromourcustomers’facilitieslocated

neartheport.

The Offshore Marine Centre (OMC),

operated and managed by Jurong Port

since 2011, is a purpose-built facility

thatoffersanintegratedsuiteofmarine

terminal-related services targeting

the offshore and marine industry. The

OMC provides a common-user wharf

infrastructure that allowscompanies to

loadanddischargeheavyandoversized

structures,modulesandprojectcargoesinasafeandeffectivemanner.

OMCprovidesa‘single-stop’solutiontocompaniesthatrequirequickturnaroundofvessel

operations, open yard support services and end-to-end logistics solutions. Leveraging

on its extensive port management experience and world class infrastructure, Jurong

Port delivers a cost-effective, industry – specific solution that caters to thespecialized

requirementsofusersatOMC.

• Designed and built to withstand 60 kN/sqm with special zones for super heavy loading of up to 165 kN/sqm

• 8 plots of staging areas. Range from 2,500 to 5,000 sqm

• Mobile cranes with up to 700 tonnes lifting capacity

Toenhancethestoragecapacityoftheport,constructionofanother24silosisinprogress.

Thiswillenhancethegrainstoragecapacityfrom227,000tonsto467,000tons.
