IntroductionBorn in sunny Singapore, Ming Leong is a recent
illustration graduate (Class of 2017) from RISD (Rhode
Island School of Design). Ming loves to delve into intricate
drawings and solving problems with a simple pencil. In
addition, Ming enjoys relief printmaking, papermaking,
ships and sails, playing games, cooking and eating.
Currently, Ming is figuring a way around New York as a
freelance illustrator/designer.
Collaboration with Hai SiaYu is a postcard, designed for the Takeaway series by
Hai Sia Seafood.
Yu is a condensed interpretation of Jurong Fishery
Port. The process of what happens to a fish at Jurong
Fishery Port is like writing the strokes of the character
yu. It starts off with the fishing boats pulling into the
harbour, to fish being brought onto land, the bustling
Central Fish Market and finally the carpark where the
trucks are preparing to head out for morning delivery -
the essence of Singapore’s oldest fishery port.
