GRACE AND ETERNAL LIFE Moses is a man after our own hearts, for haven’t we all dealt

with more than our share of stiff-necked people? Indeed, have-

n’t we all gotten a little stiff-necked ourselves at times? Com-

plaining . . . impatient . . . quick to anger. How lucky for Moses—

how lucky for all of us—that God is exactly the opposite! And we

don’t even have to guess about it. The Lord tells us so directly.

Accordingly, Moses does what we all need to do. Even with the

tablets in hand, he bows down and asks for God’s forgiveness

and grace.

Encouraging us to live together in peace—and in God’s

favor—the Apostle Paul knows all about this grace, joyfully

invoking Christ’s grace on us along with God’s love and the Holy

Spirit’s. “Rejoice,” he says. And when it comes to rejoicing, John

offers us the gladdest words of all: the assurance of eternal life

through Jesus.

GRACIA Y VIDA ETERNA Moisés es un hombre como nosotros, ¿acaso no hemos

tratado también con cabezas duras? De hecho, ¿acaso no

hemos sido nosotros mismos los cabezas duras? Quejumbro-

sos. . . impacientes. . . rápidos para enojarnos. ¡Qué suerte la

de Moisés y qué suerte la nuestra que Dios es precisamente lo

opuesto! Y ni siquiera tenemos que adivinarlo. El Señor nos lo

dice directamente. Y en concordancia, Moisés hace lo que

todos necesitamos hacer. Pese a tener las tablas en las manos,

se postra y pide el perdón y la gracia de Dios.

Alentándonos a vivir juntos en paz y con el favor de Dios, el

apóstol Pablo sabe de esta gracia, e invoca con alegría la

gracia del amor de Dios y del Espíritu Santo sobre nosotros.

“Estén alegres”, dice. Y cuando se trata de alegrarnos, Juan

nos ofrece las palabras más regocijantes: la seguridad de la

vida eterna en Jesús.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, which leads us to contemplate and worship the divine life of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit: a life of communion and perfect love, origin and aim of all the universe and of every creature: God. We also recognize in the Trinity the model for the Church, in which we are called to love each other as Jesus loved us. And love is the concrete sign that demonstrates faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And love is the badge of the Christian, as Jesus told us: “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (Jn 13:35). It’s a contradiction to think of Christians who hate. It’s a contradic-tion. And the devil always seeks this: to make us hate, because he’s always a troublemaker; he doesn’t know love; God is love! We are all called to witness and proclaim the message that “God is love”, that God isn’t far and insensitive to our human affairs. He is close to us, always beside us, walking with us to share our joys and our sorrows, our hopes and our struggles. He loves us very much and for that reason he became man, he came into the world not to condemn it, but so the world would be saved through Jesus (cf. Jn 3:16-17). And this is the love of God in Jesus, this love that is so difficult to understand but that we feel when we draw close to Jesus. And he always forgives us, he always awaits us, he loves us so much. And we feel the love of Jesus and the love of God. The Holy Spirit, gift of the Risen Jesus, conveys divine life to us and thus lets us enter into the dynamism of the Trinity, which is a dynamism of love, of communion, of mutual service, of sharing. A person who loves others for the very joy of love is a reflection of the Trinity. A family in which each person loves and helps one another is a reflection of the Trinity. A parish in which each person loves and shares spiritual and material effects is a reflection of the Trinity. True love is boundless, but it knows how to limit itself, to interact with others, to respect the freedom of others.

Hoy celebramos la Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad, que presenta a nuestra contemplación y adoración la vida divina del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo: una vida de comunión y de amor perfecto, origen y meta de todo el universo y de cada criatura, Dios. En la Trinidad reconocemos también el modelo de la Iglesia, en la que estamos llamados a amarnos como Jesús nos amó. Es el amor el signo concreto que manifiesta la fe en Dios Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Es el amor el distintivo del cristiano, como nos dijo Jesús: «En esto conocerán todos que sois discípulos míos: si os amáis unos a otros» (Jn 13, 35). Es una contradicción pensar en cristianos que se odian. Es una contradicción. Y el diablo busca siempre esto: hacernos odiar, porque él siembra siempre la cizaña del odio; él no conoce el amor, el amor es de Dios. Todos estamos llamados a testimoniar y anunciar el mensaje de que «Dios es amor», de que Dios no está lejos o es insensible a nuestras vicisitudes humanas. Está cerca, está siempre a nuestro lado, camina con nosotros para compartir nuestras alegrías y nuestros dolores, nuestras esperanzas y nuestras fatigas. Nos ama tanto y hasta tal punto, que se hizo hombre, vino al mundo no para juzgarlo, sino para que el mundo se salve por medio de Jesús (cf. Jn 3, 16-17). Y este es el amor de Dios en Jesús, este amor que es tan difícil de comprender, pero que sentimos cuando nos acercamos a Je-sús. Y Él nos perdona siempre, nos espera siempre, nos quiere mucho. Y el amor de Jesús que sentimos, es el amor de Dios. El Espíritu Santo, don de Jesús resucita-do, nos comunica la vida divina, y así nos hace entrar en el dinamismo de la Trinidad, que es un dinamismo de amor, de comu-nión, de servicio recíproco, de participación. Una persona que ama a los demás por la alegría misma de amar es reflejo de la Trinidad. Una familia en la que se aman y se ayudan unos a otros, es un reflejo de la Trinidad. Una parroquia en la que se quieren y comparten los bienes espirituales y materiales, es un reflejo de la Trinidad. El amor verdadero es ilimitado, pero sabe limitarse para salir al encuentro del otro, para respetar la libertad del otro.

St. Michael the Archangel’s daily Masses resumed on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 following these guidelines:

1. Daily Mass will be in the main church not in the

chapel.

2. Each person attending Mass is required to wear a

face mask.

3. Front doors are the only entrance. These will be

propped open prior to Mass and after Communion.

4. Seating will only be in nave (center) portion of the

church, keeping social distance of sis feet apart

except those living in the same household.

5. There will be no sign of peace exchanged be-

tween attendees.

6. Communion is only to be received on the hand,

while in line you should maintain two pews distance

with the person in front of you.

Weekend Masses (Saturday and Sunday) remain suspended during this phase. Sunday Masses and other devotions will continue to be livestreamed. In addition to parishes, the Diocese continues to broadcast live Masses and recorded events on the Diocese of Dallas website and local television. During such Masses, there will be an act of spiritual communion. All Catholics of the Diocese of Dallas remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass “on Sundays and other holy days of Obligation” (canon 1247). The requirement to receive Communion during the Easter season (canon 920) may be fulfilled at another time during the year.

Las Misas diarias de San Miguel el Arcángel se reinstituyeron a partir del martes, 26 de mayo de 2020 cumpliendo los siguientes lineamientos:

1. La Misa diaria será en la iglesia principal, no en la

capilla.

2. Se requiere que cada persona que asista a misa

use una mascarilla apropiada.

3. Las puertas frontales de la Iglesia son la única entrada. Éstas estarán abiertas antes de la Misa y después de la Comunión.

4. Únicamente las bancas en la parte central de la iglesia, serán usadas manteniendo la distancia social de 6 pies, excepto para aquellos que viven en la misma casa.

5. No habrá intercambio de saludos de paz entre los

asistentes.

6. La Comunión solo deberá recibirse en la mano,

mientras se encuentre en la fila debe mantener dos

bancas de distancia con la persona frente a usted.

Las Misas de fin de semana (sábado y domingo) permanecen suspendidas durante esta fase. Las Misas dominicales y otras devociones seguirán siendo transmiti-das en vivo. Además de las parroquias, la Diócesis conti-nuará transmitiendo Misas en vivo y eventos grabados en el sitio web de la Diócesis de Dallas y la televisión local. Durante dichas Misas, se realizará un acto de comunión espiritual. Todos los Católicos de la Diócesis de Dallas siguen dispensados de la obligación de asistir a Misa “el domingo y las demás fiestas de precepto” (canon 1247). El requisi-to de recibir la Comunión durante la temporada de Pascua (canon 920) puede cumplirse en otro momento del año.
