MARIAN STATUE UPDATE AT STS C & C

Thank you for your calls on painting the statue. People are amazing at

stepping forward! We’ll keep you updated as to when it’s done!

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS,

Since October of 2015, our two parishes of St. James, Mason and Sts. Cornelius & Cyprian, Leslie, have been in a cluster situation. One of the first things I had to do was to form a Pastoral Council and Finance Council for Sts. Cornelius& Cyprian. My sincere gratitude goes to all of them for their support and cooperation in this rebuilding process. For the past three years our two parishes have worked together as staff, with both pastoral councils in creating a new vision of –Love God, Love people, Make Disciples. This is the vision that will drive us into the future!

Matthew Kelly challenges us to go further in his book—Rediscover Catholicism; “God always wants our future to be bigger than our past. Not equal to our past, but bigger, better, brighter, and more significant. God wants your future and my future, and the future of the Church (the future of our two parishes merging to form one new faith community) to be bigger than the past. It is this bigger future that we need to envision. One of the most incredible abilities God has given the human person is the ability to dream. We are able to look into the future and imagine something better than today, and then return to the present and work to make that richly imagined future a reality. Who is doing this for the Church? For many years I have been reflecting on a single verse from Proverbs. It never ceases to ignite my passion for the Church. ‘Where there is no vision, the people will perish. (Proverbs 28:19) I have found this to be true in every area of life. In a country where there is no vision, the people will perish. In a marriage where there is no vision, people will perish. In a business, a parish, a school, or a family where there is no vision, the people will perish.”

We hope that the new vision we have created for ourselves will guide and help us in building our new faith community. Let us also pray that our future will be ‘bigger, better and brighter and be more significant’. May the peace of Christ reign in your hearts always!

Your Pastor – Fr. Kusi

CEMETERY DRIVE

Beware we are reworking our driveway. Yellow posts appear to

be in the middle of the drive. We are reclaiming ground that

should be a cemetery lot, not the driveway. As soon as Mother

Nature cooperates we will install gravel to show the new drive!
