Congratulations Mr. Klimek Please join us in congratulating PHS Girls Soccer Coach and Physical Education Teacher Mark Klimek on his induction to the South Jersey Soc-cer Hall of Fame on April 29th. His hard work and dedication to Pennsauken have been nothing short of invaluable to all who have had the honor to call him “coach.” The following is from the South Jersey Hall of Fame Program: Mark Klimek played his high school
soccer at Pennsauken where he played two years of varsity soc-cer and earned 2nd team All-Conference honors. He was named a captain as a senior. From there he moved on to Ursinus College where he played four years of college soccer. Mark was a two time MVP and Captain for Ursinus. After finishing his playing days, he moved back home to his alma mater and began a long coaching career at Pennsauken High School with the girls soccer program. He began with four years as the Freshman/JV coach and then was promoted to four years as the varsity assistant. Eventually he would take over the girls varsity program where he has been for the last 18 years. Marked looked to revive a struggling program and part of that was his involvement with the youth program in Pennsauken. He coached the first girls travel team in the town and spent four years with the Pennsauken Flames. In all he has spent over 25 years as a coach at Pennsauken with the girls soccer program. In addition, he has coached several other programs in the school including leading the girls and boys bowling teams to great suc-cess. He won a State Championship and several South Jersey Titles as their bowling coach. In addition he was named the New Jersey Bowling Coach of the Year in 2017.
