note from the editorThis month, Linda and I have created the content entirely from scratch, and with June being the kick off month to summer, we have several exciting things to announce. There will be an LDFIT Summer Camp Series every Tuesday and Thursday to film training videos and host a training camp at park or beach. We also have a new chef in Mudpie Corner, who will take the South Florida health kitchen to a different level. Linda Durbesson Goes to Peru in Late July !Linda will be going to South America in July to tour the beautiful country of Peru with N U T R A B O L I C S . L i n d a recently stated, “Besides hearing that it’s one of the most beautiful countries in the world and ceviche being my favorite food, I don’t know what to expect.”

P R O T E I N A N G E L FOOD CAKE WITH R A S P B E R R I E S & BLUEBERRIES !• 1 cup almond meal • 1 tbsp coconut flour • 4 egg whites • 1/2 banana • 1 tsp baking powder • 1 s c o o p N u t r a b o l i c s

Strawberries & Cream protein • sweetener to taste • splash of almond milk &

lemon juice • blueberries & raspberries !Preheat oven to 350 degrees. First mix dry and then blend the wet ingredients and incorporate into the dry. Toss in your berries to the batter but save some to decorate. Bake in a ceramic or glass bake dish for 35-45 minutes. !

This fluffy & naturally bedazzled angel food cake isn’t meaningless like the real stuff you’re used to stuffing into your mouth, this is packed with protein and has a mouthwatering vanilla and berry flavor.

!!Snickerdoodle Almond Butter: Very thick consistency. The notes of cinnamon and coconut sugar which gives it a cookie essence. Grade: A Coffee Bean Almond Butter: Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter: Not overly sweet or salty. Runnier in consistency. Grade: B Cranberry Coconut Peanut Butter: Even runnier in consistency next to the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter. Not a strong contester. C !All of these were enjoyed in Paleo recipes including Mudpie Summer Squash Rolls and frozen date bites that tasted like snickers with the nut butters!!

!SUMMER SQUASH ROLLS

• 2 butternut squashes (Squash is higher in Vitamin A than

pumpkin and are less dense than sweet-potatoes.)

• 4 tbsp melted coconut oil

• stevia or zero-calorie sweetener & cinnamon or nutmeg

• BuffBake’s Snickerdoodle Protein Almond Butter

Preheat oven to 425. Using a good knife, hack into the squash to create slices. Coat with the coconut oil, sweetener, and spices. Bake for 15 minutes, and then turn off oven and bake for another 30 minutes. Take out to let cool. Top with almond butter, nuts, raisins, sugar free maple syrup, or any toppings of your choice. Tastes

BEECHIE’S BAKEHOUSE PROTEIN BROWNIE MACROS: 142 cal 4F 26C 14P A cute-sized, rich-looking, and square-shaped chocolate protein cupcake. Resembles a chocolate soufflé and a hostess cupcake with a large wallow in the center that makes it a perfect holding vessel for healthy frostings and toppings. On Sundays (like this photo shown above), we do fitness photoshoots in a park or at the beach, so we must eat its natural form, but to not fear, the richness, flavor, and exceptionally healthy ingredients, makes it more than suitable for a snack. Could use some pieces throughout, though, maybe walnuts, cherries, or peanut butter and chocolate chips. But regardless, with 0 grams of sugar, who wouldn't want to eat a hostess cupcake on the beach & get ripped from it at the same time? B+ !

BEECHIE’S BAKEHOUSE BANANA WALNUT MUGCAKE MIX MACROS: 140 cal 5F 15C 8P Simply mix this mix with 1/2 cup water and microwave for 1:30 to 2:00 minutes. We like ours a bit gooey and underdone, and the texture still came out fluffy like a cake, but with the moistness of banana bread. With such low calories and great macros we wish we had these as snacks all the time! Below we paired it with some Buffbake C o f f e e B e a n a l m o n d b u t t e r a n d unsweetened coconut flakes, and a mini b lackberry s u p e r f o o d s m o o t h i e . TASTING RAW BY RAE DESSERT TREATS Recently we tasted Raw by Rae’s Dessert Treats, which are mainly composed from dates, nuts, and some other sweet ingredients, offering vitamins and minerals that can satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. They are decadent tasting truffles that will quickly disappear at any party or household. They also serve as a great pre-workout or post-workout snack. However with dates and nuts being so calorific and dense, a new lower-calorie version could be a great addition to the company. !ORIGINAL BROWNIE- Deep cocoa notes and surprisingly cinnamony. Rich texture like an actual brownie. Grade: A- LEMON COCONUT- Strong verbena notes with a topping of flaky coconut. Caramelized goodness, but fresh. Grade: B CINNAMON ROLL- Cinnamon and nuts reign through this little treat. Standard flavor for those who may not be as health conscious or daring. Grade: B SALTY CARAMEL- Depths of sweet and salty flavor. The butterscotch extract brings out the natural caramelization in the date, and the salt is a good aftertaste. Grade: A-
