1 JUNE 2013 VOL. 7 NO. 6 Tid Bits ofWisdom From the Wonderful Word Publishers There have been many kingdoms come and go through earth’s history. There have been all kind s of kings, queens, prin ces and princess. Some we ad- mire and some we think of with horror. There is only one kingdom that will stand forever. That is the Kingdom of Go d, and that is the Kingdom we wi ll serve and live with through all etern ity . How wonderful it is to know t hat one day we will serve a kingdom where there is no sins, no wrongs, no mistreatments and no hurts. The Scripture tell s us to prai se God for His holiness, His majesty and His beauty . There is no reason to apolog ize for our God or His works! If you are a father , you reign over a kingdom. That kingdom is y ourhome. Have you ever stopped to think about where you sit in your home? Y ou sit on the seat of power . There is a power given to your throne that will provide everything your home need s. God has ordained the seat y ou sit in to be the place where God will speak and lead your home. Y ou are not the power, but you are the responsible person for allowing that power to work through you to your house- hold. Y ou will give an account as to how you ruled from that throne. Y our throne is where the commandments and the verdicts are given for the home. Y our wife is the law enforcer, and the children are the subjects you are serving. Y our home is a kingdom! Y our name represents that kingdom, and all who bear your name are accountable to that kingdom. I think fathers, mothers and children have either forgotten or have neverlearned the importance of a home, because the homes of America are in disarray . We lack fathers who lead, mothers who follow and children who submit. We all blame the other peop le in the family for our failures. We say , “W ell, if they wou ld do what they should do, I would do better .” Remember, you will not giv e an ac- count for what others do with their lives, but you will give an account to God forwhat you do with Hi s commandments for your life . Remember also, we are to be overcomers. That in itself tells us that in life there are going to be things to overcome. Our country is livi ng in a kingdom that i s running upside down! Evil is seen as good and good is seen as evil. The Scripture is clear that when we are liv- ing in sin and have turned our backs upon God, our thinking will be upside down (reprobate minds). America is there! The sad thin g is that many of our families (Christian) are there also. We have done it our way for so long that we are coming apart at the seams. Since this month is Father’s Day, let’s begin looking at father’s place in the kingdom. (Continued on page 2) THE REIGN OF AFATHER! TWENTY TIPS FORTODAY’S FATHER1. Don’t underestimate the i mportance of your role.As head of the family, the basic unit of society, you and all otherfathers vitally affect the destiny of the community, nation, and world. 2. Give your home top priority. No matter how successful you may be on the job or in business ventures, yourlife can be a failure if you neglect to give your family the time and personal attention they both need and deserve. 3. Find fulllment by living up to yourparental duties. When men abandon the upbringing of their children to theirwives, a loss is suffered by everyone, but perhaps most of all by themselves. Your children need you, and you need your children. 4. Let strength distinguis h everythingyou do.A man’s contribution should be his strength as an inuence on his children and on society. 5. Set aside time for your family. Young people measure their father’s interest in them in direct proportion to the time he spends with them. 6. Make your home a happy home. Make the family a center of joy. 7. Be a good listener. Share your chil- dren’s experiences and problems by listening. (Continued on page 3)
