Called to serve ...

As we have been announcing, on Au-gust 10 we will have a seminar for the whole community, where we will be informed on how we can be involved as individuals, as couples or as a fami-ly in one of the different ministries we already have, or in some new ones that

we will have in our parish .

As the scriptures say in Mark 10:45 "For not even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve." All of us as children of God and baptized in His name and are called to serve. I believe that this is a good opportunity for each of you who are not involved in any ministry to come and join us to hear why we should serve, what we have to do and what the church has to offer and how we can be part of our Church serving and help in a community. For those of us who are already serving, it is a good opportunity to reevaluate our service in whatever our ministry is and if it is time to change, to be part of a new ministry, this day we can make that decision. We count on each one of you and to-gether we can make Saint Peter a parish of servants like our Lord Jesus did.

Llamados a servir…

Como hemos estado anunciando, el próximo 10 de Agosto tendremos un seminario para toda la comunidad, donde seremos informados en cómo podemos involucrarnos como individuos, como parejas o como familia a uno de los dife-rentes ministerios que ya tenemos o en algunos nuevos que tendremos en nuestra parroquia. Como dicen las escrituras en Marcos 10:45 “Porque ni siquiera el Hijo del Hombre vino para ser servido, sino para servir”, todos nosotros como hijos de Dios y bautizados en su nombre estamos también llamados a servir, y creo que esta es una buena oportunidad para que cada uno de ustedes que no están involucrados en ningún ministerio vengan y nos acompañen a escuchar por qué debemos servir, que tenemos para ofre-cerles y cómo podemos ser parte de nuestra Iglesia sirvien-do y ayudando como comunidad. Para aquellos que ya es-tamos sirviendo, es una buena oportunidad igualmente pa-ra reevaluar nuestro servicio en cualquiera que sea nuestro ministerio y si es tiempo de cambiar y formar parte de un nuevo ministerio, este día podríamos tomar esa decisión. Contamos con cada uno de ustedes para juntos hacer de San Pedro una parroquia de servidores como lo hizo nues-tro Señor Jesús.

and are for us unlimited. In the month of July, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to assist families, provi-ding food, utilities and rent bills, etc.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

FOR CHILDREN AGES 4 - 13

Registration is open for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. For more information please look on our website, stpeterpdx.org or call Marcy at the office (503) 777-3321.

Level 1 for children ages 4 to 6, starting October 6, 2019

Level 2 for children ages 7 to 9, starting in February, 2020

We are also offering a two-year Sacramental Preparation catechism for children aged 10 -13 that is not part of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This will start on October 6th, 2019.

The registration fee is $50.00, payable by cash or check written to St. Peter Catholic Church.

EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA PARA NIÑOS DE 4 A 13 AÑOS

Nivel 1 para niños de 4 a 6 años, a partir del 6 de Octubre Nivel 2 para niños de 7 a 9 años, a partir de febrero del 2020

Para aquellos niños que no forman parte de la Catequesis del Buen Pastor, ofreceremos un progra-ma de preparación sacramental, que iniciará el 6 de octubre del 2019. Este programa tendrá una dura-ción de 2 años y está dirigido para niños entre 10 y 13 años.

La cuota de inscripción es de $ 50.00, podrá pagarse en efectivo o cheque a nombre de La Iglesia Católica de San Pedro.
