While we’ve talked about the
health benefits of
volunteering, perhaps we could
make the claim that it also may
contribute to a long marriage!

Always - Always - Always -
We Appreciate You!
Caught in the Act …
We enjoy reading the many TEAM Awards volunteers receive and thought we’d share the
sentiments from a couple of recent ones:
“She entertains the family members who are
stressed out and scared with wonderful stories.
She is so kind and a blessing.”
“The volunteers in our department are all friendly,
courteous, helpful, informative and GREAT people.
We need you – keep up the great work.”
What you do is noticed & appreciated!
Partners in Caring Program
A volunteer recently saw someone with
a Partner in Caring Badge and
inquired about what the badge
meant; therefore, we thought we’d
offer information on this program.
This program was developed to
encourage our patients to select a
family member or friend to provide
additional support during their hospital
stay. The Care Partner can act as a
second set of ears by being included, as
much as possible, in discussions about
diagnosis, treatment, medications, or
follow-up care. The Care Partner
becomes involved in activities that
support the emotional, physical,
educational and spiritual needs during
the healing process. While performing
in this capacity, they wear a badge
which alerts the staff of their role and
they receive a discount in the cafeteria.
Like so many other
programs, our
volunteers like Yvonne
Gerber, pictured here,
have a role in supporting
the program by putting
together packets and
delivering them to
patient care areas.
