“Dress A Girl”Another Dress A Girl Bag & Tag is in the books! And,

what a phenomenal event it was, with a grand total of 287 dresses and 287 dolls bagged, tagged and sent to our Dress A Girl contact in Lake Nona for shipment to little girls all over the world! We had 21 amazing ladies come out on May 25 to help size the dresses and add dolls, purses, intimate apparel, and headbands to go with each little dress before bagging them up. We now have a grand total of 820 dresses and dolls that have been stitched and painted and sent to Dress A Girl International for distribution! If you have ever wondered what happens to all the fabric and/or cash many of you have donated - here is your answer! We are so proud and excited to know we are helping little girls all over the world, and YOU, through your donations, are part of that effort. We cannot express enough thanks to this wonderful community for all the help and encouragement we receive. Take a look at the pictures included with the article this month and know you are part of it all.

Now, onward and upward to our next Bag & Tag event planned for sometime in the fall. We also have some fun, exciting plans for this summer to raise money for more fabric and notions and, of course, another Trivia Night to look forward to in September.

The ladies of the Heritage Hills Dress A Girl group are once again fired up and ready to start doing it all over again!!!

Our next meeting is planned for July 5 at 10 AM in the Toscana Ballroom.

• The first point of contact should always be the ICON team. You can reach them in person through the Concierge desk in the clubhouse. Online you should use the Heritage Hills website www.heritagehillshoa.com.

• Regardless of how you contact management, remember to document every contact so there’s a paper trail.

• If you’re not satisfied after trying management, you can contact the RAC directly through our email address [email protected]. We’ll respond and get started on resolving your concern. Make sure you include contact information so we can keep you updated on progress.

Tone & Stretch Fitness Class is a full body workout designed for individuals who desire overall health and fitness. The typical 60-minute class includes a cardiovascular warm-up, muscle toning and stretching cool-down. Building a strong CORE is central – PILATES exercises are incorporated throughout the routine.

Water Boot Camp - This is a 60-minute, high intensity class, designed to increase cardio conditioning, muscle strength, balance and flexibility. The class incorporates high energy cardio, including plyometric moves for bursts of intensity, along with intervals of strength training. The class ends with range of motion exercises and stretching. Noodles and water dumbbells are required to successfully partake in all aspects of the class. Because of the pace of the class, come on time and be prepared to work! As with all exercise classes, you should have your doctor’s approval to partake in a vigorous exercise class.

Cardio Jam is a choreographed aerobic class which includes cardio, toning and thorough stretching, so please be sure to bring your yoga mat! Class is held in the Aerobics Room.

Evening Yoga - Need to wind down after a long day? Then THIS is the perfect class for you. Please join Megan in the Aerobics Room for a great workout and cool-down.

Evening Pilates - Megan is sure to give you a great workout on Thursdays at 5:45 PM! Please bring a mat and be prepared to have a great workout!

Chair Yoga - Gentle stretching in and beside your chair. Megan guides you through all movements, providing tips for individualization.

4th of July United States (U.S.) Declaration of Independence

The significant aspect of the Declaration of Independence is that it changed the American "rebellion" against Great Britain into a "revolution." From April 19, 1775 until July 2, 1776 the war was being fought so the colonists could regain their rights as Englishmen that had been taken away by the British from 1763-1775. On July 2, 1776 the Second Continental Congress approved the resolution by Richard Henry Lee from Virginia that "these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved ......." This was truly a revolutionary statement. John Adams felt that July 2 would be the day that would be "solemnized with Pomp and Parade with shows, games, sports, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this Continent to the other ......."

July 4 is the day that has been chosen as our "independence" day. That was the day that the Second Continental Con-gress approved but did not sign the Declaration of Independence mostly written by Thomas Jefferson. History has had a lot to do with the sanctity of July 4. It was on that day that the news of the Louisiana Purchase arrived in Washing-ton, Henry David Thoreau arrived at Walden Pond and President Abraham Lincoln learned of the Union victories at Vicksburg and Gettysburg. However, the one incredible event that happened to ordain July 4 as something significant were the deaths of both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams on July 4, 1826 only hours apart from each other.

There are also some wonderfully skilled individuals (not me unfortunately) who are gracious enough to help out any of us who have run into problems with their projects. We choose our own projects, or perhaps some projects for charity but you are free to do as you choose. Come and stay awhile and leave when you wish. Due to the holiday on July 4, we will meet the second and fourth Tuesdays. We usually meet the first and third Tuesday of the month.

At our July meetings, we will learn about the true meaning of disease and how we can help our body do its work toward healing. We will continue to learn about the importance of symptoms. We’ll be covering the sections “Disease Defined” and “Cure Defined,” pages 20-23 in the text. We’ll also cover “Homeopathic Remedies” and “Remedy Preparation,” pages 24-26. Please read these pages to prepare, as well as write down any questions you may have.

In addition to the foundations of Homeopathy each month, we will also look at one ailment or condition in the “A to Z Prescriber” section of the book. That way, we will gain some practical info that we can use while we are learning about homeopathic medicine. We’ll start with some of the most common things and eventually cover the entire alphabet in the Prescriber. In July, we will look at Abscess and Circulation Disorders.

We use Homeopathic Remedies by Asa Hershoff, ND, as our text. It is available from Amazon.com for $13.62. It is helpful to have your own copy so you can read in preparation for our monthly study group meetings, as well as allow you take notes and/or highlight as you wish. The book is a well-organized introduction to Homeopathy AND it is a helpful reference for good health and self-care at home.

All are welcome! Don’t worry about catching up. Just jump right in with us. Homeopathy is new to almost everyone in the group. We’re having great fun learning together.

I have formed many friendships over the past several years running the club and am looking forward to returning with more activities for all of us to participate in. a workshop July 18 and 19. If you have any interest in how the city is doing financially or how your tax dollars are being used, please attend the budget meetings. Contact City Hall for dates and times.Election time is soon approaching. The primary elections will be held on

(NAIA) National Champion ship in June. The Oklahoma City Stars won their 10th National Championship.The Clermont Police Department is sponsoring a Naval Sea Cadet

downtown at Waterfront Park running from 6-10. Enjoy family activities, live music, food and fireworks.

Dinah, the narrator of The Red Tent, was a real person, the also-ran child of Jacob and Leah. Listed in Chapter 46 of Genesis, a book of the Bible likely written between 1450 and 1410 BC, are the twelve sons of Jacob (bore by his four wives) that became the tribes of Israel. Dinah is tacked on to that list.

Author Diamant writes a fictional, though believable, life for Dinah, while giving readers an in-depth view of women in biblical times. Not only does Dinah “get a life,” but we get to place ourselves alongside women living day to day through the traditions and hardships in early history.

The red tent is the women’s gathering place in the community, a haven during menses, pregnancy, birthing and illness. Diamant explains in the book’s prologue, through Dinah’s voice, that since she is the only daughter, her mother and three aunts tell her everything, even things she is too young to hear. “They traded secrets like bracelets, and these were handed down to me the only surviving girl...They held my face between their hands and made me swear to remember.”
