Recap & Outlook for August

July was an encouraging month for Torrance real estate investors as a 0.9% increase in total sales, 5.4% bump in the median sales price, a 15.2% drop in the median days to sell, and a 19.5% jump in listings was reported by the MLS. Year-over-year analysis for July shows comparable stats for total sales, median sales price, and median days to sell. In the news… According to C.A.R., “Statewide sales were above the 400,000 mark for the fourth straight month” while “available housing supply remains constrained at 3.3 months of inventory” (http://www.car.org/newsstand/newsreleases/2015releases/july2015sales?view=Standard). Looking forward, expectations for August remain optimistic as evidence of a strong relationship between buyers and sellers continues and as mortgage money remains relatively accessible and inexpensive.
