Open to all area Ministers/Clergy

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month for lunch at a local restaurant. No stress. No fuss.

Just fellowship. We each pay for our own lunches. We relax, talk, laugh and eat. The agenda is up to

those who attend; forgoing an agenda entirely is often the preference by those who attend.

Date: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 Time: 11:30am to 1:00 pm Place: The Exchange on Main St. (across from the YMCA)

Check the Event Calendar for information on Minister’s Munch: http://www.hopesi.org/news-and-events/event-calendar/

Or contact Christine at 812.948.9248, x1800, or at [email protected].

The power of One progress report:

Thanks to all of you who have given so far! We have received $14,000 to date. Thank you!

We have 10 more months to attain our goal of $40,000. Will you consider donating? A gift of any size will help us to provide food and other emergency services to those in need in our community.

Would you consider a weekly “Dollar for Hope” gift? Would you allow a member of Hope to address your congregation or group? Would you organize or sponsor a fund-raising event for Hope?

Your One donation will make a difference. Every gift, no matter the size, is important. Together, we can make an impact for good. For more information or to make a donation,

visit our website at www.hopesi.org

Do you feel you don’t know enough about us to commit to a donation? Please contact Christine or Carol at 948-9248. We would be delighted to meet with you, give you

a tour of our facility, and answer any questions you have about Hope’s ministry.

The Pack the Bus Collaboration is off to a great start! We have 30 confirmed partners, and supplies are beginning to trickle in to our office.

Our goal is at the 3,000 mark again this year, and will serve the Floyd County students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 who are eligible for the Free Lunch program.

School begins August 1st, so we hope to have everything collected by Friday, July 12. Our first delivery date is Friday, July 19.

We still need filled packs, empty packs and supplies of all kinds, so your help is most welcome.

For more information, contact Carol at 948-9248, x1804 or visit our website at www.hopesi.org/our-partners/pack-the-bus/

FAMILY ASSETS are relationships, interactions, opportunities, and values that help families thrive. They are the actions families take to build healthy relationships and healthy family members.

They are broken down by categories and we are in the category of Establishing Routines; this is a good one to establish. Most of us already do this, and may not even realize it.

Family Asset # 6: “Meaningful Traditions”: Holidays, rituals, and celebrations are part of family life.

Do you do something special for birthdays? Have a special meal? Have a “traditional” cake or cupcakes; or do you serve pie instead?

Do you have a “normal” thing you do together at Christmas? Baking cookies, wrapping gifts or donating something to a special cause? Putting up the tree as a family or decorating the church together?

Do you have a special way to celebrate July 4th, Independence Day, together? Enjoy!

For more information on Family Assets visit: www.search-institute.org/familyassets For more information on the 40 Developmental Assets visit: www. Hopesi.org or www.youthcount.com.

CLOTHE-A-TEEN SHOPPING TRIP

The Teens’ Shopping Trip is scheduled for July 30.

Any support you can give us to help Middle & High School Students age 13-18 return to school with some new school clothing would be greatly appreciated.

These teens have been referred to the program by a Caseworker or School Counselor, and have a definite need. Each eligible student will receive a $75.00 voucher to purchase new clothing. We will serve as many teens as possible.

We have applied for (and are still waiting to hear about) a $5,000 matching grant from Kosair Charities. We hope to receive enough donations to match it. Would you please pray about a donation for this program? If you designate it for CAT, it will be used strictly for that purpose.

If you have any questions or need more information, contact Carol at 948-9248 x 1804 or [email protected]

Thank you.

Hope Southern Indiana is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization. Contributions are generally tax deductible. Please consult your accountant for details. Contact Christine Harbeson at 812.948.9248 to arrange a donation.

Hope Southern Indiana is supported by Our Heavenly Father, Metro

United Way and many

gifts from our church families,

area businesses and individuals in our community. THANK YOU!
