The Challenger July 2013 The last few weeks have been a testimony to the fickle nature of Oklahoma weather. It's been cool, it's been hot. It's been wet, it's been dry. It's been windy, it's been calm. Will Rogers was correct when he quipped, "If you don’t like the weather in Oklahoma, just wait a minute and it’ll change." Come to think of it, I can sometimes be like the Oklahoma weather; for one reason or another, my demeanor can change in a very short time. The truth is, all of us can stake a claim to that trait at one time or another. It can make relationships a bit tricky, can't it? That being said, can you join me in being thankful and giving praise to God that He is not that way at all? He is the one constant in our lives. He is always true, always faithful, always loving, always full of grace, and so much more. Hallelujah! I love you all! Tim From the BBA Prayer Ministry Team Leader In E. F. Hallock’s book, “Always In Prayer,” he has a chapter la- beled, “What is Prayer?” He mentions all that needs to be spoken or written about prayer is in the Bible. The Bible speaks plainly about prayer and about praying men. It relates their history. It gives the results of their prayers. Many times these results are so magnificent that we are stunned as we think of what God was able to do because men prayed. There is no theorizing about prayer in the Bible. There are no sermons about prayer in the Bible, and there is no definition of prayer in the Bible. Praying is assumed as one thing that men must do. There are invitations and exhortations to pray. There are commands from God to pray. The Bible is permeated by prayer. Three things about prayer are set up in the Bible. Prayer is our approach to God. Prayer is God’s approach to us. Prayer is receiving from God what he has inspired us to ask. Falls Creek and other summer camps are in full swing; Our nation is in moral collapse; we’ve had one natural disaster after another; VBS is also in full swing in our churches; summer mission trips are in progress; we have lost and un-churched family members and friends; and we have ministry opportunities in our association. As you know, I could go on and on regarding needs. Can we expect magnificent results because we prayed? Could it be that we have been somewhat lukewarm and less passionate about our praying? May I urge you to be more passionate in your praying and perhaps we will see the magnificent move of God in regards to our prayers. Pray and be blessed my friends. In His Grip, Bro. Anthony

The Challenger July 2013

The last few weeks have been a testimony to the fickle nature of Oklahoma weather. It's been cool, it's been hot. It's been wet, it's been dry. It's been windy, it's been calm. Will Rogers was correct when he quipped, "If you don’t like the weather in Oklahoma, just wait a minute and it’ll change."

Come to think of it, I can sometimes be like the Oklahoma weather; for one reason or another, my demeanor can change in a very short time.

Tim

From the BBA Prayer Ministry Team Leader

In E. F. Hallock’s book, “Always In Prayer,” he has a chapter la-beled, “What is Prayer?” He mentions all that needs to be spoken or written about prayer is in the Bible. Anthony

Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church is having a 4th of July celebration on the 4th at 11:00 a.m. till...... Come and enjoy this time of fellowship with us. Good food, good fun, good fellowship. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and all the fixings. Just bring your appetite!

Operation Christmas Child

Just imagine you had never owned a pair of shoes in you life. You received a shoebox from OCC. Inside were two pairs of shoes and they fit!

Imagine you had no parents. You didn’t want a shoebox; you wanted parents. Someone gave you a shoebox that contained a picture of a man and woman. And later that couple took you in as their child!

Those incidents are rare, but they happened. Will you pack shoeboxes for children all around the world? It’s time to start checking for items that would make appropriate gifts for children ages 2-14.

The Lord has answered our prayers. We have a couple from Campers on Mission that have volunteered to help with the grounds work and help me keep everything running smoothly. They are Ken and Jan Hudson and have been a real blessing to have with us.

We are still in need someone to step up and help with our Summer Missions Program in July. We have had a couple of cancellations. If any local churches are interested, please give me a call.

Please pray that we have a full summer and no chil-dren at the Lake leave without having heard about our Lord and Savior.

May God Bless Each of You,

Barbara
