The Nicaragua mission team left on Friday for their trip. Until the team returns next Sunday, they will be doing a number of things to assist at the mission including construction work, Bible studies, service to expecting mothers, working in
schools and child-care facilities, and some medical assistance, among other things. Please keep them in your prayers, that they will have opportunity to see God do mighty things and come home with a greater understanding of His love for His children. We encourage all of you to check in on Facebook and the like for the most recent pictures and news about the goings on in Nicaragua. More infor-mation about the mission can be found on their website at www.misionparacristo.com. We also want to make sure to thank all of the peo-ple who are still physically in Knoxville and other places in the states who assisted us in fundraising and prayer as we prepared for our trip. It was astounding to witness God's provision for this team and the trip would never have been possible with-out all of you who took on so many responsibilities to help.
Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 as we explore how to defeat the idols at war for our heart. Idleman states that there are gods at war within each of us. They battle for the throne of our hearts, and much is at stake. This is why idolatry is the most discussed problem in the entire Bible. Behind every sin struggle that you and I have is a false god that is winning the war in our lives. Don't give in to the myth that gods are only statues that peo-ple of other cultures or long ago wor-shiped. Pleasure, romance, sex, money, and power are just a few of the gods that vie for our allegiance in today's society. It is our hope that when the Lord God takes His rightful place on the throne of our hearts, we will have victory.
Adult Sunday Morning Bible Class Series
Fun Fridays is off to a great start. We
are having great numbers of volunteers and the kiddos are showing up from the communi-ty. Fun Fridays is new summer program that our church is offering the children at Hope Central. Our message is "Trust God and Share Jesus." Our goal is to provide a safe place to play, share the word and eat lunch with the neighborhood children. We need many volunteers (middle-schoolers —-adults) to facilitate this program. If you can help, please contact Cindy Wilson or Paul Phelps.
