PASTOR’S CORNER
As we celebrate the solemnity of the Most
Holy Trinity, we are called to reflect and
admire the mystery of God’s existence.
Very often, we admire what God does for
us. But today, we are invited to love God for what He is.
“Christians are baptized in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit: not in their names...” (CCC 233).
Our faith rests on Trinitarian God, who is one in Being and
three in distinct persons. How can one be three? The
illustration of a married woman may help us to understand
this complex concept. She is one being, but as persons, she
plays three distinct roles - as daughter, wife, and mother.
She is distinct in persons but as a woman, one in her being.
So also, God is one in being with three distinct natures. He
is one God in Father, Son, and Spirit. Avoiding the
mathematical argument, we need to accept this fact in faith.
As perfect unity, three persons of God are always United in
a loving relationship. So also, we are called to be united in
a loving relationship with God, others, and nature. To be a
complete being, we also need to be united in body, mind,
and spirit.
Al celebrar la Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad,
estamos llamados a refexionar y admirar el misterio de la
existencia de Dios. A menudo admiramos lo que Dios hace
por nosotros. Pero hoy, estamos invitados a amar a Dios por
lo que es. “Los Cristianos son bautizados en el nombre del
Padre, del Hijo y del Espiritu Santo”. No en sus
nombres…(CCC 233) Nuestra fe descansa en Dios
Trinitario que es un ser en tres distintas personas. Como uno
puede ser tres? La ilustracion de una mujer casada puede
ayudarnos a entender este complejo concepto. Ella es un ser,
pero en persona, ella juega tres diferentes papales – como
hija, esposa y madre. Ella es distinta en personas, pero como
mujer, es un solo ser. Asi Tambien Dios es un solo ser con
tres diferentes naturalezas. El es un solo Dios en Padre, Hijo
y Espiritu. Evitando el argumento matemático, tenemos que
aceptar este hecho con fe. Como unidad perfecta, tres
personas de Dios estan siempre unidas en una relación
amorosa. Asi Tambien estamos llamados a estar unidos en
una relacion amorosa con Dios, con los demas y con la
naturaleza. Para ser un ser completo, también necesitamos
estar unidos en cuerpo, mente y espiritu.

Safe Environment Awareness Sessions 9:00 AM Saturday, June 27, 2020
Anyone, 18 years or older, that is involved in a church ministry, or participates in a church organization, must possess a current Safe Environment certificate. Two Virtus Safe Environment Adult awareness sessions are 9:00 Saturday June 27, 2020 in St Thomas the Apostle Education Building. One session is in English, one is in Spanish. (Be on time, late arrivals will not receive credit, No children)
