Archaeology
SIGNIFICANT FINDINGS:
Archaeological fieldwork has identified
important archaeological remains dating to
the Neolithic (4000-1000BP) and iron age
(500BP 1400AD) periods. We are
awaiting carbon dating to confirm the age in
the final archaeological report.
In accordance with international best
practice and in compliance with IFC
Performance Standards, Exxaro will
conduct further studies to investigate the
site remains, the iron age ore processing
methods and the earlier (Neolilthic)
evidence.
