In the year 2015, we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of the renowned Serbian geog-rapher Jovan Cvijić (1865–1927), a thorough explorer of the Balkan peninsula, president of the Serbian Royal Academy (precursor of the present Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts), rector of the Belgrade University, founder of the Serbian Geographical Society (1910).

To celebrate this significant anniversary, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA and Belgrade City Museum are organising the International Conference aimed at commemorating Cvijić’s scientific work and so-cial engagement.

We cordially invite you to take part at this Conference and contribute to a memory of Cvijić through the analysis of his scientific achievements, social activities, and the im-pact of his work on the contemporary scientific issues.
