ADVANTAGES OF THE HYDROQUEST RIVER SOLUTION
Hydropower from the kinetic energy of
water, does not require fall
Predictable, regular and economic
energy
Fast deployment and installation, within
few months. No civil engineering
required.
Reliability and robustness of the
system, especially against debris, through
the manufacturing process and proven
materials : lifetime over 25 years
Modularity allows adjusting of the number of levels and the number of hydrokinetic turbines to the
depths of sites
Operating and maintenance is simple, by raising the hydrokinetic turbine in the dry and with built-in
monitoring system
Extremely low environmental impact

RIVER TURBINES
Compared to other renewable energies, such as photovoltaic and wind power, hydrokinetic turbines
have several specific advantages:
The best resource availability: energy is predictable and almost permanent.
Storage requirements for energy limited compared to solar or wind power.
The compact size of the turbines.
Environmental impact almost zero: unlike fossil fuels, the photovoltaic (energy storage and
recycling at end of life) and even conventional hydraulic (impact of civil engineering,
methanisation)
Possibility of decentralized production closer to energy needs.
Easy recycling: the Hydroquest turbines through their design, have a long lifetime (> 25 years)
and are easily recyclable, they are mainly made of construction steel and contain no composite
materials
ADVANTAGES OF THE HYDROQUEST RIVER COMPARED TO OTHER RENEWABLE ENERGIES
Based on a study by the American firm Pike Research and our own appraisal, we estimate
a global potential for HydroQuest type turbines, between 3 and 10 GW (15 billion € in sales over a 10 to 15 years period).
Only a third of global hydropower potential is used. Use of hydro potential by continents:
South America: 30%
Asia: 22%
Africa: 7%

HYDROKINETIC RIVER TURBINES MARKET POTENTIAL
POSITIONING ON RIVER MARKET
• Our real competition in isolated or poorly connected sites is the production by
diesel generators
• On many potential hydrokinetic turbine farm sites we will be more competitive
in price and more environmentally friendly

An ongoing partnership with Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie (CMN), a
leading European shipyards, located in Cherbourg, France, will enable the
development of tidal marine farms around the world.
The Hydroquest technology is particularly relevant for marine applications

ESTIMATE OF TIDAL RESOURCES
The estimates of global potential of tidal energy generation vary, but it is widely agreed that tidal stream energy capacity could exceed 120 GW globally.
