Josh Jambon: What You Need to Know about Rose Wines
What You Need to Know about Rose Wines
★ Josh Jambon is a knowledgeable entrepreneur who in his free time likes to enjoy scotch and fine wines.
★ Rose is the name of a wine that has a pink color. Rose wines are made from red grapes.
★ However, the colorless juice from the grapes stays in contact with red grape skins only for a short period of time, which is why rose wines do not become fully red in color.
★ This period usually lasts for just a few hours compared to weeks or days for red wines with full red color.
★ Because of this rose wines are similar to white wines in that they have
very little tannin.
★ This means that you can chill rose wines and drink them when they are
really cold without them changing their taste and becoming bitter.
★ You can’t do that with red wines because tannin in red wines becomes
really sour at very low temperatures.
★ Rose wines are different from reds not only in color but also in the body. They are usually much lighter compared to regular red wines.
★ Their colors can vary from deep pink to pale orange. Just like with other wines, the color depends on the variety of grapes and techniques used to make the wine.
★ Some vineyards call their roses white. This is nothing more but a marketing strategy. Such wines are usually quite sweet.
★ They are also sometimes called blush wines. Rose wines that are labeled as rose can be sweet, too, but they can also be dry and not sweet.
★ The popularity of rose wines has been different over the years. It is safe to say that now rose wine popularity is at all-time high.
★ Rose wines are a great choice when several people at the table are having meat and others are having fish. They will also fit well when regular red wines seem to be too heavy.
★ Certain foods pair well with all kinds of wine. Grilled salmon is a great example. It is compatible with both red and white wines, underlines Josh Jambon.
