Thecourseprovides theoryandpracticeessential for thenursingmanagementof thewelland ill children.Emphasisisplacedonnormalgrowthanddevelopmentofchildrenfrominfancythroughadolescence.Clinicalexperience includes the studyof thenormalpatternsofgrowthanddevelopmentobservedonchildren innurseryschools.ThisisinadditiontothecareofthesickchildthroughclinicalpracticeinMedicalandSurgicalPediatricwards.

2 CriticalCareNursingThecoursefocusesontheintegrationofknowledgeandskillstoprovidesafe,competentbasicnursingcaretocriticallyillpatient.Emphasisonnursingskillandstrategiesdirectedtowardsthecareofacutelyandcriticallyillpatientwiththefocusontheuseofbiomedicaltechnology,planningcareofpatientwithcomplexandspecializedcareneeds.

3 NursingManagementandLeadershipThis course describes the concepts and principles relevant to managerial functions: planning, organizing,staffing,directingandcontrollingandtheirapplicationindifferentnursingsituationsatthevarioushealthcaresettings.Also,itfocusesonthekeyissuesinnursingleadership,concepts,theoriesandtheirapplicationintopractice.Thiscoursewillexposethestudenttotheprinciplesofqualitymanagement(QM),processoftotalqualitymanagement (TQM)aswell, continuousquality improvement (CQI)and riskmanagement includingapproachesinidentifyingandmanaginghealthcareproblems.

4 FundamentalofNursing2Theoreticalandpracticalcomponentsofthiscoursearedesignedtoprovidestudentswithanopportunitytodemonstratecompetency inperformingbasicnursingskills for individualswithcommonhealthalterations.Theclinical labswill includesimulationsandinteractionswithpatientsinhospitalornursinghomesettings.Thenursingprocesswillserveastheframeworkforthisfoundationalcourse.

5 GeriatricNursingThis course focuses on the normal and abnormal changes in elderly, the major causes of mortality andmorbidityfortheelderlyandtherolesofanurseinpromotinghealthyaging.
