ILM – Professional Coaching

Work Experience Aged 16-18 years (Bench Artwork) - (1989-1991) The corrugated trade is where I started my career, straight from school I started working for Cooper Flexographics as an apprentice gaining skills in bench artwork, camera work, photopolymer plate making and Pre-mounting. From learning these skills I then started working full time creating full out artworks for customers such as Pepsico and Schweppes. By the age of eighteen I had become a fully skilled bench art worker. Aged 18-22 years (Apple Macintosh skills ) - (1991-1995) The Reprographics business had made a huge turn and I had to change my skills dramatically by translating my bench work knowledge into computer data. I attended many courses training on the Apple Macintosh and gained a high knowledge of many different applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Package Express & Freehand. Using these skills I took part in many different projects and accounts including a massive project for Heinz turning around over 250 jobs within 14 weeks, this project was a great success and took our company to another level. Aged 22-36 years (Apple Macintosh skills & production supervisor ) - (1995-2010) (During this time Coopers where taken over Winnetts then by Schawk) I spent about one year moving to different corrugated plants helping to create Satellite branches and training people Apple Macintosh skills. I ended up working at SCA Wigan as a satellite Mac operator working closely with the printers and onsite CSR’s. After about 6 months doing this job I felt that I needed to get back to Coopers to push my career forward. I recruited somebody to replace myself and spent another 2 months training him up to a good high standard, leaving myself free to concentrate on my own future. I returned to Schawk and was given the chance to move onto the Barco Graphics workstation ( now the Esko workstation ). I spent two weeks training in Belgium at Barco Graphics returning with a good knowledge of that system, with this knowledge I started work on High End Repro creating Pre-Print work for the likes of Cadbury’s and Dyson. I also spent two weeks training two colleagues at a sister company in Belgium the skills I had gained on the Barco System. I then took up the offer to help out on the Pepsico Flexo account within a different team, this is where I am now currently working. During this time I have gained high level technical skills including CT work and printer technical issues, this then enabled me to represent Schawk for many design meetings with printers and Design Agencies helping to provide ideas and solutions for future designs. I have been largely involved introducing new Reprographic Techniques, helping with both internal and external problems.

I took a supervisory/Pepsico champion role, supervising 25 people within the company 5 years ago and am still working in that role also filing in the managers role when he is not in the office. During the past couple of years I have been working on many different projects.

Additional competencies achieved during this period Deskpack workflow (hotfolders etc.) Converting the Pepsico account to the quattro process. StepX - Layer Intel for Pepsico - XML/Dynamic content for Pepsico

Aged 36-39 years (Production manager) - (2010-2013)

Schawk Penang (Malaysia)

I took the position of Production Manager at the Schawk Penang Facility, at this time the facility had 135 employees and already had some large accounts on-board such as P&G , Mars and Walmart. R & R’s Production Managers. To manage a team of 35 employees including Production , CSR & QC roles reporting to the Operations Manger. To help to grow the facility headcount target - employ a further 200 headcount in the next 3 years , this was a massive target and is currently on target with a further 35 required. For this I took many different approaches including making business relationships with local colleges (which worked really well with great results) and also to participate in local career expo’s (also a good approach). To implement as much automation and efficiency for current clients workflows and processes. After being in Penang for my first 2 months we encountered an amazing challenge with one of my account (Walmart) where as we where requested to quadruple the normal volume of skus (6000 total) and also to deliver in a very short timeline (2 months). This was a huge challenge itself which as a team was achieved accordingly. - December 2012 the facility management made Managerial change and I was given a new role of Cell Manager (Operations) reporting directly to the MD. Achievements and Responsibilities

One of my initial strategies was to push in a paperless system to the Penang facility, which I headed and implemented into my Cell and then rolled out to the whole facility. I am very proud of this achievement. With the headcount growth and client growth the management made the decision to split into Cell’s (3 small business sections) each Cell being a self sufficient small business including CSR, Production Artists, Pre-Press operators, CT-Retouch, 3D operators & QC department. The team also had a management team including 4 team leaders & 1 manager. The team headcount totaling 60 employees who all reported directly to me. The staff compromising of many different cultures and religions such as Chinese, Indian, Pilipino & Malaysian + others. The overall responsibility in the role of Cell Manager is from Quote through to billing. The Cell covering all of the above for the following accounts Mars Petcare / Mars Snacks / Private Label / Walmart / Friesland Campina. Also in the Cell we have a team of 3D operators that supply 3D images to all accounts for the Penang Facility who also report to me.

With the above accounts I had direct contact with the relevant Account Director an also Business Centre MD’s with regular business updates and account directive discussions.

Automation for all accounts has reached the max potential and now exhausted with some extremely immense results and ground breaking automation implementation including the usage of Dynamic Content, Variants used in parallel with scripts created specially for each project requirement whish I had a lead on in most cases. The team had outgrew their area in the facility, the decision to expand space in the facility and create a NEW studio in the upstairs of the building was given the go ahead with my Cell being chosen to move. I was therefore given the Lead role for this new refurbishment and therefore had to co-ordinate many vendors over a time period of 4 months. The completion date was achieved and the team moved to the new state of the art studio which is now know as the ‘Penthouse Cell’. Additional Project Management

I have been heavily involved in on boarding a new account which I am leading from a production point, this account is a extremely large account covering the following. 9 countries – HK, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Dubai & Nicaragua. 30 different printers overall covering the above countries. I have to date attended face to face client meetings in some of these countries to build client relations and also to make a smooth transition to enable a great collaboration with Schawk Penang.
