Gospel Meditation

The raising of Lazarus in today’s Gospel is the last of seven signs

that manifest God’s re-creation made present in Christ. We hear

Jesus say, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” In response, Martha,

and we proclaim, “I have come to believe that you are the Christ …”

Do we believe Christ brings new life someday or that new life is life

with Christ now? Jesus calls Lazarus from the tomb and all that

binds him as a sign to all disciples. How are we experiencing new

life through the Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting and Christian

service? What tomb is Jesus inviting us to leave behind?

Word of Life “An old Irish proverb says, “It is in the shelter of each other that the

people live.” Indeed, we are created to depend upon one another and

walk together in suffering.” USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life

USCCB

Easter Choir Practice

for Holy Saturday Night

Will be Sunday, April 2nd at 3:00 p.m.

Fifth Sunday of Lent

In this Sunday’s readings we hear God’s promise of spirit and

life. We do not have to remain entombed by fear, selfishness,

jealousy, greed or any other evil that kills God’s life in us. Je-

sus passed through suffering and death so that we might have

abundant life. What is the new life God is calling us to experi-

ence? What tomb do we need to leave in order to live in God’s

freedom and fullness of life?

a experimentar?

Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the

Lord at the Easter Vigil.

The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are:
