Capital & Centric Brand development
Capital & Centric Brand development
When I first was employed by Capital & Centric, their existing brand was simple and clean. They had great projects, but the photography didn’t make the most of the beautiful aspects of their work. The brand worked great in print, but didn’t translate as well to web, video and social.
Capital & Centric Brand development
I worked on the core of the brand to help to define who Capital & Centric are, what they do and their goals.
From this I developed their messaging and brand guidelines.
Derelict buildings, unloved land, property, problems for councils/cities.
Communties, environments, workspaces, homes, towns, cities.
Develop, design, curate, cultivate.
WE TAKE MUNDANE SPACES & CREATE BRILLIANT PLACES.

After purchasers had bought apartments in a 200 year old mill off-plan. I came up with the idea to give them something to remind them of their home (whilst they waited 2 years for it to be built).
These old keys were found in the building, I redesigned them as key fobs, and a local furniture designer reworked the metal into a gift to either keep on a keyring or hang as an ornament in their homes.

Capital & Centric Website design
Redesign of the website to become more consumer-facing, featuring listings of homes, apartments and workspaces to rent and buy.
Capital & Centric Short film
Antique film reels capturing a development, Talbot Mill, were unearthed in the BFI archive. I matched the shot of the original footage with a camera – and shot, directed and edited a mini-doc on the history of the film and mill itself. The short video recieved regional news coverage.

Kampus Brand development
Kampus is a £250m devleopment in Manchester City Centre. It’s over 500 apartments with 17 restaurants, shops and bars. The concept for the project is a scandinaivan and bohemian inspired, garden neighbourhood.
When I began the project, the client’s existing brand assets were only a logo, typeface and CGIs. I had to then flesh everything out from thereKampus
Brand development
The brand took inspiration from Scandi graphic design, using a soft colourful palette – letting imagery, texture and space bring in the personality.

Kampus Social branding & curation
The client wanted a “seedy” feel for the night-time, leisure activites. This included events such as mini-festivals and club nights. This didn’t match the scandi-brand they had briefed for, so I created a special “events” sub brand which was darker and moodier and matched the feel and look of the neon sign that we created onsite.

Since a lot of the work Font Comms works on is print and word-based, I developed a simple text and illustration template to help them publish client coverage in an interesting way.

Rogue Artists’ Studios Brand development
Rogue Artists’ Studios Rebrand
I rebranded Rogue Artists’ Studios – one of the longest running Artists’ studio and exhibitions spaces in Manchester. They house around 100 artists, across over 70 internal studios. They create and host exhibitions across many disciplines; painting, film, theatre, dance, interactive design and more.
Rogue Artists’ Studios Rebrand
Their brand had to be simple, clean and bold. It had to be strong enough to a recognisable mark – yet fade effortlessly into the background when placed next to a piece of art, whether physically, digtially or in print. As the studios are so eclectic, with a mash of disciplines, style and individuals – the only permenant asset is the logo and typeface.
The brand is then allowed use with any pallette, imagery or illustration style – completely down to the user/designer’s taste and interpretation – much like the art they produce themmselves.
