Our purpose, therefore, is to support, promote and develop a confident, sustainable voluntary sector in Scotland. The SCVO payroll team provide a reliable and flexible solution to the salary and wage processing requirements of voluntary organisations both large and small throughout Scotland. The payroll team currently administers the salaries for approximately 420 Voluntary Organisations employing more than 7000 members of staff. 2 Specific duties The payroll team are responsible for the following: Working together to ensure that payrolls are processed accurately and paid on time Ensuring all payroll information is sent securely, complying with GDPR regulations at all times Assisting the department in the accurate and timely processing of the tax year end Ensuring that paylists, Salesforce database and all working spreadsheets are kept up to date with the Payrite system Answering queries and solving problems relating to payroll including frequent correspondence with the Inland Revenue

1 Introduction

SCVO believes the voluntary sector is vital to Scotland’s economy and society. We support the sector to achieve its ambitions through delivering services, giving the sector a voice at a national level and promoting and supporting innovation and improvement. Our purpose, therefore, is to support, promote and develop a confident, sustainable voluntary sector in Scotland.

The SCVO payroll team provide a reliable and flexible solution to the salary and wage processing requirements of voluntary organisations both large and small throughout Scotland.

The payroll team currently administers the salaries for approximately 420 Voluntary Organisations employing more than 7000 members of staff.

2 Specific duties

The payroll team are responsible for the following:

Working together to ensure that payrolls are processed accurately and paid on time

Ensuring all payroll information is sent securely, complying with GDPR regulations at all times

Assisting the department in the accurate and timely processing of the tax year end

Ensuring that paylists, Salesforce database and all working spreadsheets are kept up to date with the Payrite system

Answering queries and solving problems relating to payroll including frequent correspondence with the Inland Revenue

Providing our payroll clients with additional specific reports when requested including pension reports

Ensuring all daily tasks are completed including answering payroll email and telephone enquiries, filing, photocopying, faxing, processing mail, etc.

Occasional shifts on SCVO’s reception desk (break cover)

Recent payroll processing experience including working knowledge of the following:o Real time information (RTI)o P.A.Y.E. and national insurance regulations in relation to processing payrollso SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP legislationo Year End Routineso Pension auto enrolment

Excellent customer service skills Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to work on own initiative Ability to work to strict deadlines Ability to work accurately showing a high level of numeracy Ability to cope under pressure Ability to work under strict confidentiality Good keyboard skills

4 Other duties and responsibilities will include

To take part in training relating to new payroll legislation Any other general duties as may be required by the line manager

5 Location/accountability

The full time Payroll Administrator will be based in SCVO’s Mansfield Traquair Centre office. The post holder will be line managed by the Payroll Manager.

7 Major terms and conditions

A full package of terms and conditions is available. Key features include:

Salary: A2 (£22,478 to £25,812)

Annual leave: 28 days plus 6 public holidays

Pension: SCVO offers a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme to its staff. Employee contributions are 6% or 3%, SCVO

contributes 9% or 4.5%. A salary exchange option is available.

Probationary period: 6 months

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
