It has been a long time since we all gathered here at Holy Rosary for Sunday Mass. We welcome not only the faithful of Holy Rosary Parish but all summer visitors as well and hope your stay in the lakes country of Minnesota is a pleasant one! And we truly do welcome one and all to our weekend Masses. The COVID-19 Virus has changed so many things that we considered normal”. Coming back to church, or at least preparing for it has been a new experience for the parish staff because we havent been through this. I went through the Flood of 1997 in East Grand Forks and, with the staff, we had to plan for coming back into the church then too, but a flood is different than a pandemic. We know that the facilities need to be prepared and the people need to be informed about everything too. In the process I think that some people felt that they werent welcome to come back because of all the protocols. That couldnt be any further from the truth. The protocols are simply guidelines. But our real concern is for everyones safety and health. We want you to be the judge of when you want to come back to church. As I pointed out before we simply cautioned our people that if they felt sick or if they in any way felt that they might be susceptible to the virus that they might want to stay home until they feel the time is right to return to church. There is no need to call the parish any longer to let us know if you are coming to church or want to reserve a seat. In preparation for our first weekend back in the church we simply wanted folks to call in so that we knew we would have enough space for everyone. From two weeks experience it seems to be going right! Thanks for everyones help. Again, welcome back one and all! We are glad to see you! CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2020 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES! Today we welcome our students who graduate from our area high schools this year. It has been a different spring to say the least with many things that we used to do being changed or cancelled. “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we

all partake of the one bread. ” (1 Corinthians 10:17)

As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and

invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being

grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold

purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth.

Two, it helps us strengthen each other’s relationship with God the

Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It becomes our road

map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!

Parish Festival News “When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.”

With the pandemic still amongst us, we know the Parish Festival has to make some changes. The festival board met this week and decisions had to be made. We will continue to meet as we develop a “New” Parish Festival. As this is our major fundraiser for the year and the parish does rely on the proceeds ($45,000) to help with the general operating of the church and school we have to be creative and careful what we can do. What we know: We had to drop a few booths such as our dinner, live auction. white elephant, kids games. But we promise we will develop new things so we can continue to grow as a family and community!

Thank you so much...A huge thank you to Tricia Geffre who so generously washed all the outside windows of the church and parish offices. She did an awesome job and we enjoy looking out the clean windows at the beautiful sunshine!

Our volunteer that helps with the fire victims and homeless is currently looking for a washer dryer and a freezer. She is also accepting furniture. For our Everyday Angel program they are in need of remote control cars, trac-tors, footballs, basketball and other types of toys for boys. If you have any-thing you wish to donate, please leave at 1231 Lincoln Ave, D. Lakes.

Please consider sending a card for their special day. No gifts please, just a card! Their address is 21664 Black Beauty Lane Detroit Lakes MN 56501.

Thank you in advance for making their day special! Wherever I am, I I
