The Catholic Daughters have a “pack & play” set up in the Welcoming Center. This is being used to collect items for their “baby shower” that they will be hosting at the
Health Resource Center. They are looking for all baby items from infant clothing to personal care items, diapers, infant seat, baby mon-itor and all items used for a infant. Please consider donating to this worthy cause!
PARISH FESTIVAL...We continue to meet as a board to decide what we can and cannot do. We will be having an outside Mass on August 23. We do plan on a bake sale and the farmers market, BIG money raffle and general raffle. So keep us in mind as you harvest your garden! We are thinking we can still have some simple meals like hot dogs, brats and pizza and pop outside. So we are open to pop (12 oz cans) donations of Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi, Mt Dew, 7-up and Orange and bottled watter. (Can bring to the parish office anytime). Plans on how to handle an online auction are in the works. Does anyone have any suggestions or new ideas? Please share with us and we will see what we can do! Contacts are Jamie McDougall at 218-849-5998, John Wilke at 507-990-6096 or Mary at 218-847-1393.
Welcome to Holy Rosary Parish. We welcome back those of our own
faith community that have been away during the events of the COVID-19
Pandemic. We also welcome our summer visitors and hope your stay in the
Lakes Country of Minnesota will be pleasant!
NOTES FROM MONSIGNOR TIM:
PLEASE REMEMBER to practice “Safe Distancing” in where you sit in the pew (sit at least six feet
apart from the next one in the pew. Family units living in the same household may sit together. Holy
Communion will be distributed in the pew. You may leave your sacrificial envelopes in the boxes at the
entrances of the church. At the conclusion of Mass, we would appreciate your help in sanitizing the
pew area you were sitting in. Thanks for your assistance!
WE APPROACH THE END JUNE, THE END OF OUR FISCAL YEAR. If you feel you have fallen
behind in your sacrificial giving and wish to catch up it would really help out the parish as we get ready
to close our financial books for the fiscal year. Thanks to all who have continued with your offering to
the parish especially in this time of the pandemic. WE appreciate it so much!
NO WEEKDAY MASS ON TUESDAY: Because of priest moving schedules there will be no scheduled
weekday Mass on Tuesday. A Communion Services will be held at 8:30 A.M.
THIS WILL BE THE FINAL TIME of writing to you in the Parish Bulletin. I will retire from active ministry
on June 30 and will be moving home to Grand Forks. In those retirement years I hope to assist in the
Diocese by helping out in parishes for Sunday Masses and other sacramental ministries. Please know
that I have so enjoyed these last eleven years here at Holy Rosary and being involved with such a faith
filled parish. As you know, Father Chuck Huck will become pastor on July 1. I know that you will
warmly welcome him to Holy Rosary as you did me eleven years ago. Again, thank you for your
goodness to me—I really won’t say goodbye because I hope we will see each other from time to time.
God bless you always!

“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is
not worthy of me.” (Matthew 10:38)
Pope Benedict XVI said, “The world offers you comfort. But
you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness.”
“Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort
when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your
cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts and live the
life God intended for you!

One whole hour? A whole hour of silence? A whole hour of just sitting?
What will I do for an hour? We challenge you try it, sit back, listen, pray, read,
look at Jesus You’ll never forget it!
If we truly want to build a deep and mean-ingful relationship with God, we need to do more, we need, metaphorically, to go where God is and place ourselves in his loving pres-ence. We need to enter into our own desert, our own place of reflection. A place of solitude and prayer. A place where we can seek the face of God and deepen our rela-tionship with him. This place, for us, we trust will become our own precious place of encounter. And, difficult as it may be to do, we need to make this an important part of our day. Only in this way can we hope to know him more deeply and to be able to receive the gifts which he longs for us to receive. There is no real probability that we will wake up one morning with that certain feeling we have become friends with God, although, as we are aware – all things are possible to God. At any time of the day or night we can call on God. He is always waiting, listening for our call. What a wonderful bless-ing. No phone needed, no emails, just a mere whisper . . .
Dear Holy Rosary Parish,
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve your faith community over the last year. It is difficult in so many ways to say goodbye but as I reminded the students this year, goodbye comes from a contraction of the phrase, “God be with you.” I know that God will always be with you and I pray that you will always seek our Lord. It was God’s plan that I would encounter so many welcoming and generous souls in my first year of priesthood. I know every encounter was an opportunity for God’s love to enter my heart and I am grateful beyond words. I want to leave you with the words of Saint John Vianney the patron saint of priests, “The priest is not a priest for himself; he does not give himself absolution; he does not administer the Sacraments to himself. He is not
for himself; he is for you.”
God Bless,
Fr. Michael Arey
Dear Parishioners,
As we look to bring out students back to the building safely this fall during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the initiatives we need to take on over the summer is replacing our water fountains with fountains that have an automatic water bottle filling station. This will minimize the use and the touching of the fountains which will provide our students with a safe way of getting drinking water. This comes at a good time as our fountains are at a point where they should be replaced anyway. We hope to purchase similar units as what was recently donated by the Fr. Don Braukmann family and is currently located in the Welcoming Center. We have 4 fountains that need replacing in the school. The cost of 1 water fountain is about $1,000. Installation could cost as much as $1,300. I have started a fund to begin saving for this endeavor over the summer and currently have $500 from one generous donor. If your family or organization would like to make any sort of contribution, it would be greatly appreciated! A check can be mailed to the school or given to Mary at the parish office. Please be sure to include a note that says it is for our water fountain fund. Thank you so much for considering a contribution – every little
bit will help!
In addition, please be sure to pick-up a copy of our annual “State of the School” report, which is located at both entrances of the church and at the school office window. This report will provide information about our School Strategic Plan progress, upcoming improvement initiatives, a financial report, assessment data, enrollment trends, and ways we live out our School Mission
Statement through faith development opportunities and service.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our parish school. Holy Rosary School is blessed by such a caring and helpful church community, and we are so
grateful. May God bless you for all that you do!
Cathy Larson, Principal

Ushers you have doing a great job helping us on during this changing time...Thanks!

After a little rest and regrouping we are bringing back the Everyday Angel Ministry It is definitely a need in this community and we are ready to be “Angels” again to those in need We now are accepting donations for our 56th family Did you vow to get organized and declutter your home this spring?
Please remember the Everyday Angels project! We collect new and gently used items and distribute them to area families who are in great need of a hand up Everyday Angels accepts any items needed by one who is starting over from loss of a home or those facing financial hardship due to illness, loss of income, etc You can be an “Everyday Angel” and pass along the items you have outgrown or no longer need to those who need them most Refer to the bulletin as every 2-3 weeks we feature a new family from our area We welcome new or gently used items in good, clean condition Everyday Angels also collects items not included on the current wish list; we will store them for future use and distribute accordingly Continually needed items include: household goods, beds, linens, clothing (socks and underwear), outerwear, footwear, furniture, educational toys, books and games
Bring items to Holy Rosary and place in the “Everyday Angel” box in the welcoming center How gratifying to know that our unused and outgrown items can make a huge difference in the life of someone else! For more information, please contact Susan Deraney (218) 849-1856
When donating items for these particular family member, please bag them separately and label accordingly – Family #56, Child #1, Child #2, etc; this will help tremendously with the sorting and ensure those persons receive your items We could definitely use the help of you labeling the bags or boxes that you donate Thank you!!!!
