JOB CRISIS IN PAKISTAN

INTRODUCTION Pakistan is another country in South Asia that has

been severely affected by the financial crises. In fact, Pakistan seems to be one of the hardest hit with this global crisis. Its economy is already in crises. We know that the employment opportunities are very short in Pakistan now. This job crisis problem has become the crucial problem in Pakistan. This economical distress also falls the confidence of many people and putting a bad affect on people’s emotions and on their family life.

There are many reasons of the un-employment in Pakistan and following are counted as major reasons:

1. Due to the social of our economy:

The current economy disaster leads the Pakistan work force towards a very critical position. Many people are jobless and plenty of people are in queue to be free from their regular jobs due to the employment crisis, and now they are tend to seek part time jobs. According to the current market research there are about 2.4 million persons of labor force were estimated as unemployed in 1999-2000, as construction and transport sectors have an absorbed eleven point two percent 11.2% percent and now this ratio has increased to a very critical level.

2. Collapse in the private sector:

If we talk about the private sector of Pakistan then the job opportunities are also very less. Employment opportunities in Pakistan private sectors are getting shorter and shorter and the major reason is the current economical crisis. This ratio can be better if your absolutely stopped because they shifted their capital to other countries because of nationalization of industrial units badly affected the investment industrial sector.

3. The higher rate of population:

Another major un-employment reason is the increase in the population of Pakistan. The higher growth rate of population is creating problems to seek the better opportunities. Pakistan population is increasing with 100% rate and resources are increasing with its quarter half rate. Meanwhile the resources of the country are getting limited because population has exceeded to an optimum level.

4. Investors are feeling unsecured due to social security

The problem of suicide bombing has put a negative impact on our country’s economical growth. The only sector which was running successfully was the private sector with the help of investors, who invested their resources and money. But now due to the bad security reasons they are also moving from Pakistan. Karachi is the biggest and major industrial base of Pakistan, but investors are reluctant to invest there because of violence and suicide bombings. If we see few years back then the rate of jobs in Karachi were higher than any other city of Pakistan. Now this beautiful city of Pakistan is in trouble and the unemployment rate is also approaching to its high level.

Affects of job crisis on people : Due to job crisis in Pakistan, even the students of best

universities of Pakistan are suffering too. They are paying huge amounts of fees and getting degrees from good institutes but many are still jobless.

The suicide rate has increased in our country because of job crisis. In Pakistan there is a trend of large families in which usually the bread earner is only one person. As the job crisis is increasing day by day mostly people are getting emotional and not only killing themselves but also their poor family members.

Similarly the crime rate is also increasing due to job crisis. Due to lack of jobs people are suffering from hunger and basic needs and so most of them are adapting wrong ways to earn and committing serious crimes like murder, theft, kidnapping etc and so the crime ratio is increasing day by day.

RECOMMENDATIONS The crisis in the whole world has been cured by the bail out plans given by the government. They have

used Federal Reserve’s to cover-up. Although these strategies has not given the instant recovery yet, it is expected that in few years the position of the markets will be stable and on track. Pakistan has different criteria to survive in this critical situation as the effect was not usual. By following methods we can survive from this crisis.

Tax breaks will be given to the industry to produce the product. We have a problem of energy crisis but if we develop plans by keeping in mind our resources than the industry crisis can be cured.

Agriculture sector needs a greater support; we are not using the resources of our agriculture. We have an ideal land for agriculture but we are not utilizing it. Government has to

empower the farmers so that they could produce more. Once we have our own produce we will be good enough to overcome the problem of hunger. People will not prefer to have migration towards cities if we will develop the agriculture the shortage of labor faced in the fields will be covered if the agriculture will be given boost. People will prefer to have cultivation on their lands.

Cash subsidies and food fixed amount programs regarding the economic financial shortage will be good to obtain stability. Reduction of the financial policy and decreasing the rates of productive sector will be helpful to deal with the problem faced by our country. Increasing supporting programs for the labor demanding activities. It will help to fulfill the need of employment. The wages paid to the poor keeps the poor always poor so if we will

start to overcome the poverty due to unemployment the half of the situation can easily be handled.

Media should promote special training programs for the jobs.

Students should be given proper training during their studies which can be helpful to them when they go for jobs.

Our government should remove the old and illegal people from the higher posts and give chance to new and deserving people.
