Experiences & Achievements since graduating in 1999:
July 1999: Exhibited at New Designers 1999 show, Islington, London
August 1999: Preparation and implementation of my first design studio, ‘J.L Riddle Design Studio’.
August 1999: Article published in the Guardian Weekend magazine regarding my work with colouring plastics.
August 1999: Freelance work with Penny Watts Studio, Rowena Bristow and Suzsi Corio; all agents based in London and selling design work on a worldwide basis.

October 1999: Awarded an £800.00 grant and a £1600.00 loan from The Princes Trust.
October 1999: Collection of cards published by Ronin Designs Ltd, incorporating my degree show designs.
February 2000: Commissioned by award winning fashion retailer Psyche, to design a range of Perspex jewellery for the Middlesbrough store.
March 2000: Won Third Prize and £300.00 in the local heat of the Shell Livewire competition.
April/May 2000: Commissioned by Psyche to design several follow-up collections of acrylic chokers and cuffs.
June 2000: Accepted to receive the Creative and Cultural fund grant- awarded £3000.00 for the purchase of a computer, heat press and a digital camera, for my new business venture.
June 2000: Accepted to exhibit at the Top Drawer Exhibition, Earls Court London, in September with The Princes Trust.
July 2000: Achieved a sponsorship deal with Madeira Threads UK for £150.00.

July 2000: Received £500.00 from The Ropner Trust, Stockton on Tees, towards materials for Top Drawer.
September 2000: Exhibited at Top Drawer, Earls Court. Obtained 10 good
orders, including International links with Dubai and The Lebanon.
January 2001: Asked to teach Part Time A-level textiles at Cleveland College of Art and Design Fleatham Street Site, Middlesbrough.
March 2001: Won 4th place in the Tees Valley sector of the Shell Livewire Business Awards.
August 2001: Achieved a permanent 0.8 Fractional Post at Stockton & Billingham College, teaching AVCE & GNVQ Art and Design to Post 16 students. This post also involved working within the community at 5 different centres.
September 2001: Started to study for my PGCE (Part Time) with Huddersfield University and Stockton and Billingham College.
September 2002: Appointed as Course Leader of A Level and GCSE Art and Design and implemented several changes to the structure of the previous courses.
September 2003: Curriculum development for BTEC Nursery Nurses unit in Design Technology, delivering this unit to 2 full-time and part-time groups of students.
November 2003: Began role as Personal Tutor for Gateway to Art Students. Currently teaching this group for 5/6 of their timetable.

June 2004: Appointed as Course & Curriculum Leader for BTEC First Diploma in Design.
September 2005: Launched my new business venture ‘Fuzzy Bridge’, a textile, illustration and surface design studio.
February 2006: Completed NESTA’s Insight Out programme and won the top award - £5000 funding for ‘Best Business Idea’.
February 2006: Filed a Patent Pending for my ‘Printing onto Synthetic Surfaces’ process.
April 2006: Started a Digital City Fellowship at the University of Teesside to develop my Artezate product: Awarded £1000 for my project.
June 2006: Achieved a £1000 Vital Spark grant from Stockton Borough Council.
July 2006: Left Stockton Riverside College to go and teach part time (10 hours) - A Level Art and Design at Stockton Sixth Form College.
July 2006: Started my Summer University courses doing a UCPD Business course and a UCDP Digital Illustration course.

September 2006: Exhibited as ‘Fuzzy Bridge’ at the trade fair 100% East, The Old Truman Brewery, London. Gained some excellent contacts and leads as part of this experience.
January 2007: Visited (on request) the major flooring manufacturers Altro and Amtico flooring to discuss possibilities for licensing my Patent Pending process.
March 2007: Patent Pending written and filed on March 10th 2007.
October 2007: Started my MA in Art and Design at The University of Teesside.
February 2008: Filed application for the next stages of my UK Patent
March 2008: Achieved joint 5th place in the Society of Dyers and Colourists Award 2008 (out of 55 entries).
July 2008: Shortlisted for Designers in Residence exhibition at Design Museum, London. (15 students shortlisted from the UK).
July 2008: Exhibited with Ondrej Lewis at New Designers 2008, Islington, London.
September 2008: Exhibited as ‘Ateliero’ with our EcoPETlite at 100% Futures, Earls Court, London, with [re]design in their Lighten Up exhibition
September 2008: Graduated my MA Art & Design with Distinction
