The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:For thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Jo Ellen Hamilton, 96, of Beaumont, died Friday, February 10, 2017. She was born on August 1, 1920, in New Castle, Texas, to Clinton and Louella Burris. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of First Christian Church, where, until recent years, she participated in the Stuart Class, Christian Women’s Fellowship, and many other activities. She enjoyed playing the piano throughout her lifetime, especially for her Sunday School class and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her sons, Gary Hamilton and his wife, Teresa, of Missouri City; Larry Hamilton and his wife, Jan, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Mike Hamilton and his wife, Melinda, of Beaumont. “Grammy” is also survived by nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Tommy L. Hamilton; and her parents. The family would like to express their gratitude to Serenity Assisted Living, Gentiva Hospice, and others who so lovingly cared for her for the past three years.
