Jesus Chose the Cross—Jesus Died for You and Me ‘For by the death of Christ we are set free, that is our sins are forgiven.’ Ephesians 1 v7 (GNB) ‘By Jesus’ sacrificial death we are now put right with God.’ Romans 5 v 9a (GNB) Jesus, God’s Son, went to the cross for you and me. Jesus paid the price for this giſt of grace with His life. Grace = giſt of undeserved love. What did Jesus do when He was on the cross? Jesus looked on the soldiers who had tortured Him and prayed, ‘Forgive them, Father! They don’t know what they are doing.’ Luke 23v34 (GNB). Jesus was dying on the cross for your sins and mine, forgiving those who had nailed Him to the cross—what amazing grace. Oswald Chambers, writer and teacher, wrote that, ‘forgiveness...cost the agony of Calvary.’ Jesus suffered a death we cannot imagine for us. Three days later Jesus came back to life. Jesus’ giſt to us is new life and new hope. Jesus wants us to turn to Him in faith and be put right with God. This giſt is available to us every day. our sins are forgiven.’

Ephesians 1 v7 (GNB)

Fellowship News

We give thanks to God for Karen McClure who died on 25th February 2015. Karen loved

God and she loved being part of the Tuesday Christian Fellowship. We thank God for

Karen’s friendship and care of others. Please pray for Karen’s family, friends, flatmates and

staff who supported Karen and cared for her.

We pray for people who have been in hospital recently or are still in hospital: Tanya,

following an operation; Des, Gwen’s flatmate; Gordon, Teresa’s friend; Don, Bev’s husband.

Please pray for people whose friends or family members have died. We pray that you will

be very aware of God’s help and comfort and peace at this time.

Thank you for all the contributions of food that were given at the Harvest Celebration. The

food has been given to people who do not have enough food.

We thank God that Graeme and Maebry Reid are safe in Vanuatu. We continue to pray for

Vanuatu following the injuries, deaths and devastation caused by cyclone ‘Pam’ recently.

We pray for strength and wisdom for Graeme and Maebry as they help, support and

encourage the people of Vanuatu.

Our theme for 2015 is, ‘living as Spirit filled followers of Jesus’ We will celebrate Easter,

then continue look at more of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
