JERRY KAYE COLLECTION

“If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you wisely invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.” Frank Lloyd Wright

The inspiration for Jerry Kaye is rooted in the appreciation of art and design. As a collector, Kaye enjoys

the discovery of finding something new; an artist , a designer or even a movement. This becomes the core for each collection.

The collection is based on American design and made in Italy. Working in Italy allows Kaye to express

like no other country. It’s a country built on craftsmanship, quality and design integrity. The ability to experiment with new design, dyeing and weaving techniques are encouraged and give the opportunity to look at clothing with a fresh perspective.

The combination of American design with a European influence create a modern sensibility. This is

expressed through color, fabric, pattern and fit. There is also a focus on comfort so knit and stretch fabrics with a soft and luxurious feel are important. Men want to look good, feel good and want others to see that by the clothes they wear. Stand out in a crowd by not being the loudest but being the most confident in what they wear.

Inspiration

The Designer

Life led Jerry to fashion design in an unexpected way. His football and track talent propelled him to college where he studied architecture and fine art. Two years later, the Detroit native was on his way to study fashion at Parsons School of Design in New York.

The industry took quick notice of Jerry's talent at Parsons. He began his

career working with Roger Baugh, Robert Stock, and, then, was asked to join Alexander Julian. As Design Director, he began his travels to Italy for the Alexander Julian Collection and the Colours brand.

Perry Ellis impressed with Jerry's success asked him to join their brand as VP

of Design. The brand grew quickly and he was promoted to Creative Director for the entire brand. During his 13 years, he built Perry Ellis into a global brand with sales over $800 million worldwide with 58 licenses including womenswear, childrenswear, footwear, and home.

The past 7 years Jerry has been a creative consultant

for several top companies. He has advised Levi Strauss on the growth of their apparel licenses. He also guided product expansion at Robert Graham and oversaw Bobby Jones and Jack Nicklaus golf lines at Hartmarx. Jerry launched the brand FVF “Form vs Funktion” for the Pansuns Company .

Jerry's 20+ years of creative experience have built the foundation for his

eponymous collection. He is excited to share with you Fall / Winter 2015.

MRket Las Vegas: Fashion Editor’s Picks

March 3, 2015 by William Buckley

With New York market followed closely by New York Fashion Week, which overlapped with Vegas market, the last few weeks have been busy for all of us. And production of our upcoming April issue is in full swing: Vegas market led straight into the organization of a photoshoot in Tulum, Mexico, so time to recap Vegas market has been limited to say the least. Now, with the Fort Lauderdale connection on my flight back from Cancun canceled by Spirit Airlines, and with them unable to get me out of this sun-drenched purgatory until Tuesday, I have had some much needed time to breathe (and by breathe I mean sort through the multitude of photos I took on the show floors, and edit them down to a few good favorites).

Jerry Kaye

Beautiful outerwear, sport coats and knitwear, the brand is the eponymous label by menswear veteran Jerry Kaye. With over 20 years in the industry at companies including Perry Ellis and Hartmarx, the line is produced entirely in Italy, and effortlessly fuses fine tailoring with sportswear. $120 to $1,200.
